I just thought that charms and extenders really rig this game for those with money. Causes drama, problems, egos, all that stuff no one likes. So I was wondering, do you like charms and extenders being available to players, or would you like to see them removed?

tbh, I love having charms. I'm a mage, so charms are essential for my manking as I nova. They boost my attack to make my AoE's that much more powerful, and it boosts my def, making sure I don't die.
Charms are not just for PvP. Keep that in mind as well my friend~

If there are charms, then the word "tank" usually referred to, to a tanking warrior, could be taken over by a charmed mage. It makes things weird.

.-. I really don't have much to say, since I've only used Charms/Extenders only one time. I'm those kind of people that like to use their 'true power' (That applies for Kro, whom has been using his normal power and soloing since now, and always will.)
So, yeah...people use them for different reasons. But for me... eh.

I'm torn between liking and disliking them, myself.
Thinking neutrally about how badly they imbalance the game, sc users vs. non-sc users, it's absurd. As well as how badly they influence pvp, and how charmed idiots just go on slaughter fests against people who have no chance against them. I never bought charms before recently, well except for the occasional charm for a Helga raid back when they were fun server events. I refused to for a long time, afraid that they'd become addicting... that I'd feel useless unless I was charmed, or that I'd never be able to go back to the old rate of exp once I got used to the charmed exp.
Oh was I right. -_- Around 97 or so, I got sick of the exp that I was getting. Even with a +9 purple 95 set and a +9 end/dex 96 helm and a +9 bkr... the hundreds of millions of exp were going by too slowly, and wizard is just so close but yet so far. So I started charming, first 20%. Then I tried a 50%. Then I tried 70%. And now I'm like hooked on charming 70% to get my 12% exp per 2 hours. It's the fastest that I can get, and it's like the heck with this I want wizard I don't care about the cost, I'll stop charming once I hit 100.
But then when I can't find a party, or at least when I can't find a party that can handle those mobs without dying, I feel... inadequate. Thinking about what I could be getting, if only I got a good enough party. Feeling like my exp bar isn't crawling up quickly enough. And when I can't find a party at all and get only 2% an hour instead? 1/3 of what I get in duo 70% charmed? I get ticked off after an hour and log out, and try back for a duo or party later. I was always content soloing for that before...
So while I hate the imabalance, the addictiveness, and the expense of charms (especially since they're such short items and 50% have to be bought in that dumb cookie pack)... I do like that they let me tank things that I normally couldn't, and kill fast enough to get 6%/hr. I haven't seen that kind of exp in months. So... mreh.

Since I never PVP I like charm and extenders. It is critical to turn a failure KQ to a success one. Extender are good for mages expecially, give cleric less heart attack. A mage without extender is a 1 hiter in kq even with max scroll. They are down before you finish saying oh **** in your mind T-T

Haha that made me laugh so hard. xD It's so true though. Someone once told me that, "Watching Tempy's health is like watching pong in super speed."

Personally, my opinion on the matter is mostly one of indifference. No matter what happens in Fiesta, you can always be certain that someone, somewhere will find something to complain about and post it on the forums. I always like to read said posts, laugh at the irony present in such a discussion, and even post a witty comment or two.

[begin stong opinion]Charms/extenders breed lack of true ability to play your class and survive. They also take much away from the need to party, one of the best parts of MMOs[end strong opinion]
I've never used them and I have an 86 archer and 60s of all other classes. I level really quickly and very rarely die. I don't begrudge people using them, but the thread asked for an opinion. Want to see the effect of charms on pvp? Look at all the high level people staying dead for the 2 minutes because even with their +9 or godly armour they can't beat the lowest level people in the kq.

I a former and recovering charm addict. I liked charms because they allowed my mage to solo. I mean, when I was charmed I could actually gather a mob and aoe that mob while soloing. Without charms, I could only aoe in a party or limit myself to aoeing 2~3 monsters. With extenders my mage was a beast, I'll take you down! Sorry, that was the charms talking. So, I think charms should be available and not removed. It is unfortunate that this allows pker's to become more efficient at their task, like it allowed me to be a more efficient soloing mage. However, charms are not the problem just how you use them is. I'll take you down!

I have been on both sides of the fence, so I hope that I know what I'm talking about, but I know someone will always disagree, so here goes.
I believe the 50% charm of the cookie pack should be removed and placed in remi's rare finds and that the 50% extender should be replaced by a 25% extender. This means that there would be 40% extender readily available, but 50% would only be in remi's rare finds and that the 50% extender would cease to exist. Here are my reasons for believing so.
The amount of damage increased and decreased from charms is dramatic, I am fairly sure it is actually quite larger than the % that it is supposed to be, while your base damage increases the correct amount, unless your base is less than your target's defence, you will be doing more than the % of the charms, while if your charms give you MORE defence what is attacking you, the amount of damage decreases rapidly.
The 50% extender is truely obsurb, as a past user on my fighter, out of over 20 PvP KQs, I only died once without the hammer being involved, I was teamed by two fighters with +9 axes, a mage with a +9 staff and an archer with a +9 xbow, this was without charms. It renders archer poisons null and the powerful, but slow recharging skill combo of mages, nearly so. It not only increases your max HP cushion by 50%, but also the amount your stones heal by 50%.
I understand the need for charms and extenders, sometimes you just can't avoid using them as a mage, but there is truely no need for a 50% charm, do like the name of the game, make a party.

A 2x fighter with a +0 2h was hitting my 31 mage for upwards of 500 in 20 abyss just a little bit ago... I don't think any class 5 lvels lower than myself should be able to 2 hit me...
(I'm assuming he was charmed in some way because even a pure str fighter shouldn't be hitting that with a +0)

Well, I think that charms and extenders are what make the game unblanced. It really is unfair when you're PvPing but I'm not the one to talk 'cause I've never actually used them.

Charms/Extenders:
Pros: Useful for Helga raids, mass mob using a non-fighter class and Dragon Tomb without cleric
Cons: Abused in PvP-situations such as pvp KQ, Guild Wars and Abyss

If it makes you feel any better, at level 95 I could solo uncharmed. I had +9 top, boots, and bkr staff at the time. Now everything else is +9'd too, I found a trustworthy enhancer. xD But yeah. I have hp stone extender and make my own t4 pots, both regular and regen. It's 2% an hour but, partying uncharmed makes like 3-4% an hour so... it's not that bad.
Mage soloing uncharmed is still possible in your future. :) Just not likely without the higher defense of the 95 gear.

I think charms should only be used in PVE.
I never see the use to charm in PVP as it won't show your true skill, unless you're harrassed in abyss.

I believe for PvP, Charms/Etenders should be disabled(if possible). Critical outfits are more than enough of an advantage in PvP, why add 20-70% more damage and 1.5 times the hp/sp then try to tell someone they suck because they don't have them(like alot of people in PvP do. As for PvE, If people want to charm go ahead, let them it's their buisiness what they do to an npc monster who'll die either way, charmed/extended or not.
Long story short, Disable in PvP (including PvP KQs), Enabled in PvE(Including non PvP KQ's).

I don't think charms/extenders should be available in PvP either. If you're vsing someone who doesn't have said items, then of course you win, that's not pvp, that's slaughter. <.< but for PvE I don't mind. I said no either way =P But I doubt OS will remove one of their biggest income items.
