Used to the servers would die and OS would apologize with free SC or something, but lately it seems they just want us to deal with it, why the sudden change of heart Outspark? :( No, this isn't a rank, my things are 30days i can handle losing a few hours, i'm just honestly curious as to why they stopped apologizing and trying to make things up to us .-.

I cannot tell you precisely why the 'change of heart' as I'm not a staff member. However, I do know that the Terms of Service has always said that they are not required to compensate you for such downtimes.
You acknowledge that (i) Outspark will not be held liable for any loss of Outspark Member data resulting from server maintenance, spot maintenance or any other downtime event; (ii) Outspark will not be held liable for a user's inability to access paid services during any such downtime event; and (iii) Outspark will not be held liable for any delay or failure to operate the Outspark Services resulting from causes outside the reasonable control of Outspark, including without limitation any failure to perform hereunder due to unforeseen circumstances or causes beyond Outspark's control such as acts of God, war, terrorism, riots, embargoes, acts of civil or military authorities, fire, floods, accidents, strikes, or shortages of transportation facilities, fuel, energy, labor or materials.

Well as a business that has clearly made a LOT of money, I think it'd be a nice gesture to show it's PAYING CUSTOMERS that they value our patience and our business, don't you?

According to press releases they haven't yet broken even on the loans they've taken out...so how can they have an excess of revenue lying around? What reports are you viewing that I'm not?
I'm a paying customer here at Oustpark as well and I understand why it would be nice to receive the added time. As a CL, I am an unpaid volunteer here to help moderate the forums...I am not staff and as such I dont have the authority to tell you what you will and will not receive. I'm here to give what information I can and to help where I can. I cannot tell you why the gratuities have lessened, but I can tell you where it says they don't have to give them out in the first place.

I see showing customers respect more of an investment than a cost.

And another angle on the whole reimbursement issue: perhaps it was the community who contributed to them stopping the near-automatic "freebies." It hasn't been that long since any server hiccup, minor or major, saw the opening of 2-4 "Where's our free SC item time?" threads.
Believe it or not people standing around with their hands out demanding things they're not actually entitled to will tend to make the folks who had been nice in giving such things out rethink their position.

i can see you didn't read my thread....i'm not asking for anything, nor do I care about the time i've lost during server issues, the server is online and i'm offline because i don't feel like playing right now....my point is, why'd they stop...im asking for nothing and not trying to start a fight, this is just out of mere curiosity since i know they used to give item time and sc as sort of an apology and lately they haven't.....since nobody is going to take the time to read my posts before flaming it, feel free to close this Celtic :(

OS used to give out things like server-wide EXP boosts and extended cash shop item durations when servers had problems. Now I'm not even sure if even apologise by saying their sorry.

When the servers are down, the item time does not tick so to speak.
Additionally, the servers were down for 5 minutes tops. Which really isn't that much of a loss of time. It's a good break to go n munch on something, come back, and keep going ^_^

We immediately took notice in the server downs and made action accordingly.
We apologize for the problems our server crash may have caused.
They were down for approximately ten minutes.

We read it, we just interpreted it a bit differently. I cannot give a reason for why it stopped, it wouldn't be honest of me as I don't actually know why.
There could be a lot of reasons. Perhaps the population grew too large for them to be able to reasonably do that on a regular basis. Perhaps, like Grummin said, they wanted to deter people from opening 'where's my free item' threads everytime the servers went down. Perhaps upper management just decided not to do it. There are a lot of different things that could have happened. I'm not sure which one is the real answer...
If you'd really like this thread to be closed, I will do so. I don't believe any one here meant to flame your post, but as we interpreted the post a bit differently from how it was intended the responses didn't fit with the question. I apologize for that :)

Oh, get over yourself already. Perhaps if you had read my post you would have noticed it began with "another angle on..."- clearly signifying it wasn't aimed directly at your post but at the situation overall.
