View Full Version : Problems with Revive...

For the past two days, I've been having trouble with my Revive skill. I was able to successfully revive several people on Sunday, but on Monday I failed to revive two or three people, even though there was the revive animation and my SP went down. They were still lying on the ground, and there was no light surrounding them, magically bringing them back to life.

I had enough SP, and I'm sure I hit the right hot key (otherwise, the animation would not have popped up).

Then, I was in a small party (just me and a mage) in Moonlight Tomb. He got hit and died, so I tried to revive him. NOTHING. I tried twice and it didn't work. So he warped back to town and then came back. Thankfully he wasn't upset or anything. ^^;

He died again when I think a mob either spawned near him or started going for him instead of me. I tried reviving him again, and thankfully it worked.

So, my question is...what's going on with my revive? Is there some failure rate that I'm not aware of? Or some requirement (besides SP) that I'm failing to meet?

There are a few requirements total, and one of them you have no control over. That is the player who has the corpse laying on the ground actually accepting the revive. If they don't, they'll just lay there. There will be times where they'll be 'dead', but if you click on them it'll show them as alive with full hp. During those times, you can't revive them. I suspect that the code thinks 'they're alive', and thus isn't prompting them to see if they want to revive. If it does it more than once, relog fast then hit them with it. There are some skills that get buggy like that which the coders are working on I'd suspect (considering revive is a major feature of the cleric as a whole)

Hmm. I see! I thought I was doing something wrong. XD

When I was partied with that mage and tried to revive him the first time, I could see his HP was empty. I'm sure that he was willing to accept the revive, too. I guess this means that there are times when the code thinks they're alive, even when their HP is zero?

Anyway, thanks so much. X3 I'll remember the relog thing next time. :3

I've also had it a few times where the person is dead but they don't appear it - either they're still standing, or they're laying dead with their HP half full. In that case, if I try to revive, it goes through the animation and everything but says "incorrect target." Others try to revive and get the same problem.

So it's possible that there's either that problem, or as was mentioned that when the person gets the "would you like to revive now?" option they don't click yes.

I guess that's possible... But then what happened with the mage I was partied with? He was lying on the ground and his HP bar was completely empty. He needed me to revive him, so I don't think he'd have rejected the offer. I also don't remember getting an error message. I tried twice to revive him the first time he died, and nothing. :confused:
