i think this game would be alot more fun
if there was a good guild system and pvp system
kill stealing is something people would kill over.
and disputes need to be settled once in a while
it would improve the game alot.
my arguement isnt so good, but feel free to dissagree

i agree it would give the game more depth. It would also allow people something other to do other than the main quest.

My only issue with opening this as a wide-range PvP game is it would make it even harder to level than it is now, considering you lose xp when you die. A PVP arena is an excellent idea, but I say leave the PVE as it is.
Having come from a PVP free game I can assure you, it's a nightmare if you're not into PVP for fun.
My 2 cents.

yea pvp is awsome,:D and a good pvp system would rock! either an arena where players can go specificaly for pvp, or a way to make it so that a player can ask another player to pvp, then if the other accepts, they can agree on what what the winner gets, like a realtime updating box where each player can change the amounts of gold they want to put up, then when one dies, the gold is taken from thier bank account and transfered to the winner.
( sorry if "gold" isnt the currency in SoS, but it is the usual currency for mmorpgs, so i just said it :o )
and what would be realy great would be party vs party pvp!
the party leader chalanges the leader of another party, and if the whole party accepts the challenge, then it is on! that would be something cool.

PVP and a guild systems sounds fun imo but you are going to get so many
e-madonnas because some people take it so seriously,
because games are serious business rite?

The issue is this - fre-range PvP invites horror... anyone out in the field would be subjectto the wrath of anyone who thinks they are more powerful, killing you and costing you XP because they feel like it.
Controlled PvP, like a challenge system where both parties must mutually agree to a duel or in a controlled area would be fine - because it would be an option for one to engage and, therfore, they could not cry foul should they lose.
As I've said before, the game I left to come here was free PvP - new players were protected by the system up to lvl 35 at which point they became fair game. They would step out of town and BAM! killed - over and over. Even people at my level, 86, were randomly killed by more powerful players for merely being "in the way".
In other games where skill was the primary factor, the open PVP wasn't as much an issue because there was balance. Loved that game... granted, it was text-based but fun to play. ^_^

No matter what, people will be killing other people in some way in PvE. It only depends on the rules and the means.
If open PvP was implemented, then yes, random high-level characters will run around killing lowbies for kicks. It will probably be quite widespread, and if exp loss was still in there or there wasn't a penalty of some sort for the PKer, then max-level players would sit for hours wiping out a certain area of all lowbies that would have considered it an otherwise good spot to grind experience within.
If it isn't implemented, then those same jerks will simply lure a bunch of mobs or a higher-level enemy (suggesting this game works like RO) right in front of the entrance to the map. If it doesn't work like this, then they'd bring the really big enemies from far away maps to completely annihilate the lowbies instead of PKing them.
It wouldn't be as widespread, but there would be an unavoidable experience loss, as well as a walk back and little-to-no means of retribution. You can tell who killed you if they came up and had to actually attack you, but it's much harder to figure out who lured 20 + aggro monsters right in front of the entrance of a place a player would normally take only 1 or 2 at a time.

yes i hear what everyone is saying but there should atleast be
a pvp arena for pvp whenever you want -_- boo! lolol.
but i know there should be some rules if it is a free range pvp.
like no pvp in certain areas like noob areas or if killed by a player u dont lose
experience. stuff like that

Mobs can on later maps follow you into red Zones and continue to pound you. In Salem Valley it's much worse if they come into the red zone north east. A death-bottle neck.

You should have seen me fighting a racoon in the area I mentioned in Salem. My Predictor was in a pinch only able to use the mace and pots.^_^'
