Just had an idea.
When you hit a certain level in your class, it'd be pretty cool to change your class into another one, and creating a hybrid class.
Like a Paladin would have to be a lvl. 50 Warrior 1st, then change to a lvl. 1 Acolyte.
Or a Hitman would have to be a Archer, then change to a lvl. 1 Mage.
Anyone think this would be interesting?
Comments, good or bad, are welcome.
Just don't spam. >.>
PS: Sorry if other games do this, I just thought this up. I did not steal from any other game, and if I did...it's a universal concept. Anyone can put this in their game, I think....

actually thats kinda cool i'd like the idea of being able to have healing arts or magic arts and keep my fighter strength or the speed of a rogue and the magic of a mage

XD Someone posted!
Cool.
Although I was thinking now...
A Rogue/Fighter mix would be like a Ninja.
Coolio.

Hybrid classes mgiht mix everything up.
Like Fighter/Healer, Archer/Sorceror, Rogue/Sorceror, etc. would mess up the job display tree. It would be a good idea but i dont think it will work out in the end, since it will be too confusing...

Ehm.... This game already have hybrides in form of the (sort of) healing warrior called "Predictor"-branch from the Acolyte class, and the shooting Archer-branch, from the Rogue. ^_^'

the problem with doing such as the OP suggests, means that everyone would assume that by picking a hybrid class they would become stronger and more special, thus thinking the extra effort to level more makes them more noticable. In games like this, thats how people think.
It would completely wack the variety found in game. By offering archer and paladinish character with higher levels and a more difficult class, they meet half way. As you can see, the acolyte is the least favored class, and this is a good thing in my opinion.

Actually, the hybrid system worked really well in Final Fantasy XI online (though it was called a subclass there). For those who didn't play, the way it worked was once you hit level 30, you could "equip" a subclass to your main class (the secondary class would be, at most, half the level of your main class. You needed to level them separately because you had the ability to change your class at any point in FFXI). Because you're two classes at once, you get the stats of both classes. So if you're a fighter/rogue, you're a fighter with the boosted attack specs of the rogue. You would want to pick a hybrid combination that benefits your purpose the most (fighter/healer would only work well for soloing, not in a party because the healer stats/abilities don't benefit the fighter very much as a tank or a damage dealer). However, for this to really work, the game may need to have a wider variety of classes.
My personal example is that I was a Paladin/warrior. Paladins were the primary tanks, so I was a tank with the physical benefits of a warrior.

Way too many problems in the implementation of something like that, so it’s not gonna happen.
Btw, it would basically become RO2.

well RO2 doesnt exactly have a hybrid system, it just allows you to switch class whenever you want and share certain skills from each class.
I'd rather keep the current class sytem myself

Hmmm... which'd be the name of the combination of Mage and Aco? an Arcane Master or sth like that?

there should be other classes that involve these like a Dark Knight(which is able to use the dark arts and keep there fighting spirit) something along the lines of that i do believe that would be good

I wouldn't think that'd be a good idea for this game. They'd have to change it around so that there are basically two leveling system: job level and character level. It works fine in games like Final Fantasy Tactics, because in those games experience is gained according to the relation between levels and such. On here, experience from a monster is fixed.
