So yeah, I have noticed a lot of racist remarks and tons of harassment, this is a screen shot of yesterday, I wont bother to post all of them. This happens multiple times a day :(

Whatever you're using as a means of erasing the surrounding area, please make the edges into actual corners. It makes you seem a lot more "correct" when you do small tasks such as that correctly.

If you were using paint, then you could have moved the part of the screenshot you wanted to the top left corner, then erase the rest by changing the size of the canvas (which is a very small square in the lower righthand corner). Also in paint, right-clicking a color, then using the box selection tool to delete what you want censored looks more professional as well.


And to contribute to the actual thread at hand: I think there could be worse out there, like people getting you killed and then talking crap to a much worse degree than what you've shown. But hey, maybe I just have a higher tolerance for stupidity than most people.

well that's pretty rude of that person to be saying that to you...but unfortunately there will be players like that in any online game...as DragonMan949 said, if it gets more serious, you should contact the staff or a GM about it...

As someone who was there when this happened I feel the need to add a comment. That conversation has been taken somewhat out of context considering that the person who it was said to(the one crossed out) had irritated not only Yin but many others due to constant luring and mobbing, causing several different people to die on different occasions. Another thing is you have failed to include the remarks that you and your comrades made back, which were no less rude than his.

While I'm not condoning what was said, I must say that if someone kept making me lose my hard-earned experience on purpose then I would not have very nice things to say either.

Is that whole of the conversations? Did those whose the names are erased not say anything back? or probably they were they one who started first? This is why the mass-medias are sometimes deserved to be hated. Well, I don't think anyone would ever call random people a c**k without any solid reason (or maybe there are some..). It can regard the previous conversation or action they had earlier. Having to post this kind of attachment is just unfair for those people who maybe not be guilty.

Suprisingly this person named 'sophi' [i didn't want to bring this subject up again - thing of the past as we have all agreed - mainly the players in salem map] has been luring and mobbing people to death ON PURPOSE.

I apologise for using that remark, but its no how 'racist' and that was the only remark I had made. Before that I had remarks said to me even worse or to similar standard.

Ok, first of all there aren`t any censoring. There should be some in OBT, but until then, just take a screenshot of your harrasser, post it in a topic, and have some pretty good evidence so someone with an authority to take action. I for one, like many other players do not have it, except Mods, S Mods, CSRs, and GMs.
Here`s a way to do it:
Take a screenshot of the worse part of the harrassment (even if you have to scroll up in your chat box), go to paint, open the screenshot, and only cut all the parts until you only have the chat box, make sure it has corners, don`t use an eraser, itwont work. Next make sure that you don`t leave any white or blank spacing, and when yo udone all that blurr or put a black or white box covering your name, if don`t want your harrasser to do get his/her revenge (but you dont have to cover your name if it`s in your signature). Now, upload it to photobucket or any other image host, put the link between "" (right here) and "" then post. Someone should pass by and acknowledge this, hoping the guy who did this to you gets some sort of punishment, mute, or ban at most.

In any event, the appropriate approach to this is to bring your evidence to a GM for review. Personally I have no tolerance for bullies and ignorant little pukes harassing potentially underage players. Nor, I would venture to say, do the GMs.

No one wants to have to go through this kind of event, you`re right Serric, maybe you should send this to a GM, or post it in a seperate topic "Reports For Harrassment" would be a good thread to post in, so people who got harrassed in game should post their image, details, and comments in it.

And if anyone gets in this, don`t aggravate the harrasser, it will just make things even worse, give them a warning, and if it goes out of hand do what my previous post says, it should help.

Btw: who should make the report topic? Me or your Serric.

Ok I`ll go on and make the thread, hopefully people who fell victim to this harrassment would stand up and start posting these screenshots. When a GM decides to make it sticky, it would help most of us (plus id be the first regular member to get a thread stickied for a good cause XD) but its a gain for people who has been bothered way too many times.

But i`m starting to wonder, can GMs chat ban someone even if the player is offline?

That's not surprising. People are usually swayed by the first story they hear, even if it is out of context and only a half-truth.

...yea at first I was swayed by what Thallid said...but then after you and sasuke8 posted, I looked back at the screenshot...and I was like "wait a minute...why did they cross out their name? and why didn't they show the whole thing instead of just the chat log?"...eventually it got suspicious, especially her reaction of "that's not nice...thats hot...lol" which to me, doesn't sound like she's being "harassed"...

I am actually wondering if a folder is appropriate now. Perhaps a private message to a GM and let them investigate is a better way. I don't think the point was to oust anyone but I fear it can be used to do so. -_- '

So I refer back to my original advice on this one - if you are feeling harassed and have screenshots, get in contact with a GM and let them handle it. If there is a case there, they'll deal with it.

2.) Words, conduct or action, usually repeated or persistent that, being directed at a specific person, annoys, alarms, or causes substantial emotional distress in that person and serves no purpose.

3.)Sending threatening or harassing e-mail after being requested to stop, is prohibited. Extremely threatening or harassing e-mail is prohibited always.

persistently it says - so a one off isn't really harassment =) ~


p.s serric its a gd idea, but then again i doubt there will be enough GM's to handle ALL the problems in OB.
