View Full Version : Where should I use my SKILL POINTS

Im a low level cleric. We all do know that we recieve skill points but just want to know where should I spend those points? What skill does that points need badly?

Personally, I'd put 5 into SP comsumption for heal first. I'd rather be able to heal more than heal faster.

Personal preference will suit you best.
I thought putting my first points into Heal's SP reduction was great. At low level, mana lasted so long that I'd never have to rest whatsoever, just heal, kill things with a bit of patience, and truck through the low levels.
Use what supports your playstyle.

Well, if your going to be a healer, then this
+1-3 on Spirit (Most important for healers)
+1-2 On Endurance
+1 On all but Dexternity, and Int

If your going to fight, and not stand back a heal, then this
+1-3 on Endurance
+1-2 on Spirit
+1-2 On Int (If you plan to hit magical things :P)
Dexternity, is mostly useless. Dont really bother 'bout it

Skill Power Ups Here:
Healer should add lots of recharge time points to: Heal...Increase casting length points to all: buffs
Fighting Cleirc, should add lots of recharge, and damage points to: Bash

I'm assuming your talking about your skill empowerment points. If I were you, I'd max my healing sp consumption and the cooldown. From then on, do whatever u like.

man, what an amazing point you bring up.
5 points into duration on invinc is good (although you have some time there)
i put 10 points into heal (5 on cooldown and 5 on sp consumption) and i regret ever doing it.
sp consumption does VERY little for you. it saves you money, whoopee. you shouldn't really be having any big money issues. Better to spend those points on something that will
A. increase your survivability while soloing
B. increase the survivability of your party
c. increase your mob kill rate (faster you kill, more exp and drops you get)
my suggestion:
5 points into duration on invinc
5 points into cooldown on heal IF you grind or party in areas way out of your league and need that little extra umph
5 points into damage and cooldown on bash. This is your ONLY decent offensive skill (bleed/trip is absolutely worthless) so why not make it as useful offensively as you can.

I'm not advising a 5 dura invinc, but adding 1 point to dura is cool ^^
and for me having a 5 cd, 5sp HEAL is mandatory.

There is a reason i posted that list. Care you explain your reasoning for empowering heal? because i find it a complete waste of skill points.

:) thanks, you made me fell better, I always wanted my Bash to be more useful (crit build, a crit bash is ... damage-juicy :D) and empowered it, but thought bad about how everyone else was dealing with their points : Heal SP cons. Heal cooldown, etc ...
never thought about the empowerment this way (considering the money as easy to get, so that SP consumption doesnt matter) and ... your point of view kicks *** :D

You get it when you level up, every odd lvl.
Lvl 3 -> 1 Skill Point
Lvl 4 -> No Skill Point
Lvl 5 -> 1 Skill Point
Lvl 6 -> No Skill Point
Lvl 7 -> 1 Skill Point
Lvl 8 -> No Skill Point

Honestly I'd say 5 in heal cooldown is mandatory, there's been a lot of times for me it's saved my life or the tank's life. I know the reduction in recast doesn't seem like much but when every split second counts you'll be very glad you did that.
Heal sp cost is somewhat personal preference, it won't make you heal better but it's really a question of how much do you really want to be spamming potions/stone. Stones get more expensive as you level, potions don't get more expensive(other than needing new tiers) but you do use more of them as the sp cost of your heals goes up. I forgot the number but it's the level 21 heal, it's 41 sp, so without empowerment you have to use a sp potion every 5 casts of it give or take. 5 points in sp cost cuts the sp cost in half, considering spells/equiment start getting very expensive that sp reduction is nice to save money for other things.
As for bash, again personal preference, nothing burns your sp quite like bash does. It does speed up battles, but you will spend an aweful lot of time resting or go through a crazy amout of potions/stones using bash. For me bash is more emergency use, like when I get a lot of mobs on me, invincible and start bashing to thin them out. If you empower cooldown on bash intending to use it all the time that's even more sp. Again personal preference by I think a lot of people will be amazed at just how fast your sp drains(and for the record heals are more sp efficient so the extra time a battle takes by not using bash still costs less sp than using bash every time it's up).
Invincible duration is really nice, I'm not sure yet if 5 points is worth it cause at least the first point adds quite a lot of time, assuming all the rest add about the same amount of time it'll probably get a duration long enough it'll fall from damage rather than duration. Personally I'm definitly doing 1 point(since I alreayd have and can't get it back anyway) and probably 2, but I'm going to see how it looks from there. With one point in it I've not found anything that will break it's damage before the duration is up.
As for the rest of the points I'll get I havn't quite decided yet, I may reduce sp cost on bash, assuming it works right the duration of restore(thinks that's right, the regen anyway) could be interesting. Anyway I'd say the most important thing is 5 points in cooldown for heal, that's good for solo, good for groups, good for everything, I would say that's the only essential empowerment, the rest are more preference and you can't really go wrong no matter what you do.
