View Full Version : ok, IDeas about a possible pvp server.

Iv heard alot about people thinking w/e new server is coming being a pvp server. So i was wondering. What are your ideas On how a pvp Server in fiesta would be made? And how popular could it get? I can just see the main fiesta pkers going over there and starting trouble and having thier fun. Might make the abyss on other servers safer. So what are your ideas on how it would work?

I was thinking that in the main citys, And areas with level 15- Monsters would be safe. Then anything over would be a pvp area. And only a certain level can pk there. Like if the area is Ancient Elven Woods, Were theres level 65-75ISH monsters, levels 60-80 Could pk in that area. Or Burning hill would be levels 20-30 for pking. Dont leave a big gap in the level limits tho. Would total mess people up and just be a BIG abyss. lmao.

But idk about the other stuff. Maybe on the pk server there could be an extra map that connects to roumen called "the PK arena" were u can go in for 1hour and Fight. Seperate the levels by like 20-40. 41-59 60-79 And so forth. Like a pvp kq but more OPEN. Reward is.. idk some silver for winners. idk its an idea in progress lmao ^.^

So leave your ideas here and lets see if the GMs like em. Maybe we can start a pvp server sooner than the GMs were planning. Luck to ya all. PK in abyss is fail ^.^:eek:

Think about it a pvp server would require strict rules so maps dont become total mayhem and as everyone know OnSon suck when it comes to rules/regulations.
This would also require huge code altering and you know what happens when fiesta devs tinker with the code.... correct! BUGS

Well yeah. The whole point of the threat is HOW would we stop it from being so annoying and have a pvp server fun. idk. I was hoping someone would say something to my question instead of "no" ....>.>:mad:

I think Silky had a thread about if players wanted a PVP server or not, and the majority said 'YES!' so, this is something many people want, but as you say OP, trying to figure out how to make this happen is challenging. Putting PK level restrictions on certain areas... hmm... well, I'm really not sure how a PVP server would work at all. You would have to have restrictions, otherwise high levels could easily, and would constantly, go after the low levels. I don't even see the thrill in that but it happens X_X

I haven't got much input for this, sorry >.< I hope other people have more suggestions though.

well i think it will be set up as.
the towns are safe.
any other areas will be pvp.
but i really dont know how it would work for fiesta because its practically filled with young people running a muck so its a idk for me.

Well you dont know how much i would like to flame you but i will keep it civilized since this is another "remove pvp from abyss" thread disguised as pvp-server discussion.

First of all, my answer was not just a "no" unless every word in answering posts count as a "no" for you if they are not "yes"/"i like it"/"it rocks"/etc/etc. I think my answer was far from unreasonable and experience from OnSon's patches show that it is not "that" unlikely to mess with parts of the game while trying to fix other ones.

Now use your brain and tell me what would happen if OnSon had to undertake such a major project as creating a pvp server for fiesta online. How much time would it take to develop/alter the game code while fixing the tower took like a month or so. Do you really think they would like to stop all the projects currently in development like fixing bugs, cooking system, Leviathan's nest, new cs costumes and items and so on, namely things that will return them guaranteed profit just to make a pvp server to meet your needs?

Sorry if i sound mad at the OP but seems that General Discussion forum's section has become the place where lazy people complain about everything [working as intented or not] bothering them. Im pretty sure the OP is one of the many many people who cant come in terms with the pvp risk in abyss. Once and for all: abyss is a map with high rewards but not a baby's playground, you have to be able to defend yourself. Either built a bridge and get over it [get a party and kill the pker] or never go into abyss or stop logging in the game till you can control your anger.

Instead what we see here? "I am pked! ohnoes something must be done!" "oh yea make a pvp server so all pkers go there!" "I dont care about the cost, all pkers must go there!" "ok lets go to forums create a thread about what was already discussed in a GM's thread".

Anyways, dont think that the devs are not aware of suggestions like this, it just have a really low priority if it has any. If you are really looking for suggestions why dont you check Nekopon's thread where people so avidly posted in favor of the pvp server idea. Creating new threads every week [not talking about the OP here] for the same old issues wont make a difference. Try and find a way around, make it like a challenge if you really like the game.
Would you really like every little bit be handed to you on a silver plate?

wow Tototros is right! but be aware that OS doesnt listen ideas which SC is not included. Besides, people create this theads just to HOPE to be heard (which is not gonna happen).

As an opinion i gree with PVP in abyss but some balances must be done.

oh but as a note to this forum, there is already a game with pvp servers, with towns safe some towns unsafe, iam sure everyone knows what iam talking about idk if i can say it here on the OS forums, so to stay safe i wont.

still still, it would be fun > : )

Some things that come to mind:

-Turn PVP on or off (Option 1.) When PVP is ON, you recieve a __% experience/droprate/farming boost. Sort of like our Abyss with the safety/reward tradeoff. This would stack with any boosts from the cashshop.

-Turn PVP on or off (Option 2.) When PVP is OFF, you suffer a __% experience/droprate/farming decrease. This would make it slower to level in a PVP server than a non pvp server if you constantly had pvp off.

-Turn PVP on or off (Option 3.) A mix of both, bonus over normal server for having pvp on, decrease for having pvp off.

*The pvp on/off switch would be like a skill, with a long cooldown so people aren't just swithing it on and off when they see someone coming their way.

-PVP must be OFF to vend. No complaining about shop kills that way.

-Characters within 5 levels of you can freely attack you when pvp is on. Any higher or lower would have to request a duel. This would keep high levels from going to slaughter people. Duel notifications can be turned off if you choose so.

-PVP not available for characters that have not undergone their first job advancement. Sort of standard thing, let people get used to their character so they aren't discouraged from playing the game by lowbie gankers.

-EXP will only be lost in the abyss, normal map pvp is exp-loss free.

-PVP Safe Zones: Rou, Eld, KQ maps. Open PvP is off, but Duels can still be requested

-Free for all Zones: FBZ, Abyss, and PVP KQ stay as they are in the normal servers. PVP Currency (See below) rewarded however.

-PVP Currency, points based on your number of kills and deaths. Amount gained/lost depends on level difference. PVP currency exclusive items available.

*Perhaps implent something like a war status window for pvp. If you kill someone they go on your list for an hour. If you kill them again while they are still on your list, you wont get points, but the timer will reset to an hour. This is to discourage "farming" your friends or alts for points. Point loss would be unrestricted however.

In white are the points you could get for open, no request pvp (5 level range)
The grey shaded areas are the "duel only" and would extend past +-10, just excluded for length.

-KSing for PVP points would be much like ksing mobs, points awarded based on % of damage done out of 100%.

-Party PVP Currency distribution (a bit complicated.) Some might complain about clerics being at a disadvantage in getting points. If partied, and someone in your party gets a kill, it will be split somewhat like experience, with a party bonus.

Example of this split in a DUO. Duos have a 10% point increase in this example. Also in this example, someone who does not attack will get 30% of the available points, the person who does all the killing will get 70%. If they both participate in the damaging, the points will be adjusted acording to the % of the damage they did.

The victim is level 30. To a level 30 attacker he would be worth 1000 points.
Party member 1, level 32. Solo he would get 800 points for killing the victim. The 10% bonus makes it 880.
Party member 2, level 28. Solo he would get 1200 points for killing the victim. The 10% bonus makes it 1320.

Heres a table, makes it seem a bit less confusing hopefully.

So, if Player 1 does 80% of the damage he gets 546 points.
Player 2 does the other 20%, he gets 502 points.

If Player 1 does 20% of the damage he gets 334 points.
Player 2 does the other 80%, he gets 818 points.


-Outside healing prohibited, if you want a cleric while you pvp, you have to party and share the points.
