this might seeem silly, but how do I get out of a free fight?

Free fight? Could you be more descriptive, please? Do you mean in a Free Battle Zone?

If you're in a Free Battle Zone (FBZ) and wish to leave, first always try saying in normal chat that leaving is your intent, and request whoever keeps attacking you (if that's the case) to stop. Once you've asked for said cease-fire, if, by some chance, they don't stop, it's then harassment and you can report the individual for it. Best of luck!
(Maybe it would be better to venture back in once you can kill your way out if need be. XD)

By using the Portal Guard at the area you came to when you first entered the map.
EDIT: My apologies, most times when people say they can't leave FBZ, it's because they're being spam killed.
