If ur like me, then ur nowhere near 100 XD, but after reading some posts im starting to learn that my cleric is going to be screwed at 100. HK's get all the attack skills but they have to use a mace and the cant upgrade heals. G's get all the heals but they cant solo nymore and apparently they cant use a shield. I understand that the class change divides up all the classes in some way, but the cleric division in my opinion is a bit unfair counting that clerics are probably the weakest class atm. If switching the skills or giving G's an extra attack skill to make up for bash isn't an option I vote that HK's and G's at least switch weapons. But hey thats just my opinion

The mace is the DD weapon and the hammer is the supportive weapon. They both have the right weapons. HolyKnights become more of a soloist so them gaining the attack skills makes sense. Guardians also DO have a shield and gain the heals seeing as they become more party bound. Even with this, one can't say a HK can't support a party or a Guardian can't solo. Both can, but they specialize elsewhere.

Uh......mace is NOT a DD weapon. Unless you go full str, in which case you're just a weak as hell fighter, without any good skills and lame heals.

Deebeekay I think you said it backwards o.o isn't the hammer DD weapon and mace supportive? o.o

Nono.... Mace's in the long run, become a DD weapon. See, the thing is, with the speed of the mace, it adds up to you landing a greater damage output. It's a lot of mathematical Stuff. Supportive clerics use hammer since they rarely attack, so when they do, it's wirht landing that high damage. o-o It's the same way the 2hnd is more a DD weapon, but everyone goes "OMG LAIKE CRAZY DAMAGE. DATS DA DD WEAP0NZ!!!11!".

HK's just cant upgrade their heal spells right? If thats so then u wouldn't lose much by missing out on like 1 or 2 heal upgrades right?
DemonBlitzKragor
09-20-2009, 04:50 PM
They can't, but the thing is, as a character's hp get's larger, and higher leveled mobs deal more damage. You will desire the greater healing power to keep them alive, as even spam healing can't help someone if the amount being healed isn't enough to suffice.
BlackDragonEX
09-20-2009, 04:53 PM
Yep HK get better buffs though..but u dun think thatl make up for the heal loss.
soul_eater2
09-20-2009, 04:53 PM
But i thought heal spells only increased by increments of like 100, a 200 heal boost wouldn't be much then

Last i checked, the jump of amount healed after Level 100 was greater. I'm not fully sure of it so i'd have to crawl to Aberstol Ruins to check. :x

Level 99 heal for both classes heals 2960 (empowered). The level 103 Guardian heal heals 3120 (empowered).
The description for both says "Recovers 2000 HP", but they do heal different amounts.
There's not a big difference in healing this cap raise, as Guardians only get one extra Heal and two Rejuvenates. Next cap raise, though, I expect there to be a significant difference between the two classes.

Getting a bigger buff is nice, but what's it matter if you can't heal the person's hp as it is? Granted, HK gets a higher def protect buff too... but is that enough to make up for people's hp growing like crazy, I dunno. It's not just heal that HKs give up, it's rejuv too, which makes the decision even harder.
We'll just have to see I guess. Gotta love guinea pigging with our 100+ characters. =/

Guinea pigging is fun. Seeing as there's always away to pass the restrictions given to us. o-o

09-20-2009, 05:15 PM
Atm i dont see a big difference between the heals, but like Roseanna said ill just wait til the cap rise. (Nyway by the time im 100, the cap raise will have probably raised twice XD)

Well, class change was supposed to be 120? We're getting it at 100. So HKs miss out on 20 extra levels worth of heal and rejuv, on top of what they're already missing out on. At 150, will HKs be able to heal massive HP bars (made more massive by their buff) while missing 50 levels of heal/rejuv instead of 30? I guess none of us will be around to find out anyway, but still. xD
soul_eater2
09-20-2009, 05:18 PM
Maybe they'll make a new heal spell, they should call it "SUPEROMEGAULTIMABOBheal" and have it heal like 9999 hp lolz
