Well 10g is yeah too expensive for most guilds and I see a lot of problems with that. For instance, the same guild or two would always win over and over again, forcing many guilds to just not participate in.
So here is my solution:
The chance of getting in one of the sixteen spots should be related to the amount of money the guild master puts as an entrie fee over the amount of total money payed by all the guilds. So if a guild master decides to put in 20s, and the toatal collected by all the guilds entering is 100s, then the chance of getting in would be 20/100 or 20%. Then since that guild already got a reserved spot for the tourney, their fee is taken out of the equation so the next guilds chances of getting in would be whatever they put in (x) over the remainding fee, so x/80.
1. Since the fee is low, more guilds would be encouraged to enter the guild tournament, and more competition means lesser chance of just one powerfull guild to get in and win over and over again.
2. So what if everyone is putting like 1s into the entry fee? Well, its just by nature that a guild would want to get in and start paying fees to increase their chances of getting a spot, and soon most guilds would try the same. And even if a guild bets low, they still got a chance of entering.
So yeah...I might be confusing at some points about my idea, but I hope it wont go unnoticed. >.<
