All of you complaining about CoA are rude and ungrateful.

If they would like to make a thread about how rude/ungrateful we all are, then there is nothing stopping them. But they don't want to make a thread and put themselves out there, they want to come to threads, having anything to do with the most recent update, and tell us we're noobs for discussing it.

Yeah. I was told make a thread about it, now I am.

Please, feel free to come and try and go agaist how I personally feel and explain to me your reasons as to why OS needs to increase the stats or make this new FREE premium item tradable. So far the only legitimate complaint I have seen is its a bit big. But its really not that big when you compare it to the floating heart pet.

This was an event easily won without SC (I don't have SC items and was in like the top 100). The stats are better than ANY perm pet in the game. Also it is the best FREE pet in the game. Personally, I like the looks of it. I will proudly bear my coat of arms and lay face down on the ground when I get owned in SvS (Server vs Server) PvP.

Okay... Feel free to tell me a reason why our FREE pet with more stats than ANY free pet should be "improved"

Human nature to find SOMETHING to complain about, I know. Something is given to us for free and it just isn't good enough.

REAL WORLD EXAMPLE ~ Do you go to a food store, try a free sample, and complain "Its not good enough, you should've given me a life time supply"...?

well actually the best pet is the Gold Olympic Medal which is +5 all stats.

but there is only around 20 players each servers (except the new ones) who have it, not 500 like this one. so i can understand the +5 stat.

This was an event and from what I seen in the other thread people was not being ungrateful they was pointing out what would make something better ( or what they wished it would have been ). I see only one problem with the pet and that is the same problem with the wedding pet. No way to storage it. I like the design of this event pet so I do wear it but I would like to be able to storage it and my wedding pet when needed. A simple fix would be to bind this pet to a user. It would also help binding SCs to a user also ( be nice to be able to put SC items in storage.

Funny enough some people are putting it that they wish it would be smaller and so on in this thread. Is that not the same as what they was doing in the other thread but with more smiles and so on?

Funny thing is, I mentioned the size thing being similar to that of the Floating Heart pet. And only one person mentioned scaling it down. I also ASKED for posters to try and give me a ligitimate problem with it.

I am not sure of the scale ( Seen larger in other MMOs ) I do like the design tho like I said before. The problem I see is people had a hidden prize and rather then getting the red rider BB Gun that got a nice coat that looks good but does not go bang.

I don't think people are being as much ungrateful as they are just alittle upset that it was not as grand as they thought it would be.

I can see that OS would not want this going from char to char or from player to player but setting it up where you can storage this and SC items would really help out ( shoot sell us a SC item inv slot in storage for that matter ) lol.

I know a lot of people were disappointed. But I see it as, it's permanent, really didn't require much effort on my part as a player on Apoline server. It doesn't look half bad either. It's got better stats than my wedding pet which I'd switch if I had a sc pet anyway so yeah I like it.

I think what the problem is that a lot of people allowed themselves to get hyped up and fantasize what it was. Maybe expecting too much? But hey, it was designed just for us and is just one of many things to come.

Don't see anyone in that thread contacting GMs over this. They was talking about it between themself. When you got a new coat from grandma and you don't like it don't you tell your friends you don't like it and your mom made you wear it? i think one of the problem was that the players didnt know wat was the prize during the event. so some ppl start to spread rumors about it then every1 start getting sorta high inspectation only to be disappointed at the end.


next time, i think it will better if OS just say :

"Prize : Unique permanent pet (+3 all stats)"

I'm going to be honest about this. All I hear in this thread is how ppl tht complain suck. Well, I'm sorry, flame me, throw me in acid, I don't really care. I don't really like the pet. I don't like the design, I don't like the size and I think the stats are blergh. Personally I'm not complaining about this, yes I hate it, first thing I did after I saw how it looked was store it in the last inventory space where I would never have to look at it again. BUT thing is, yeah, it was my choice. Now what I DO complain about is the wasted time and electricity and effort this thing gave me. Usually when you hide something from your child/friend/etc it's usually something grand and amazing. Something GOOD. If i'd known it'd be a humongus floating pizza platter which made me feel overweight rather then strong due to the stats, well, honestly, I wouldn't have gone through all the trouble i did. It's not misleading us, but withholding information is also not really nice is it? I'm not ungrateful or rude to be honest, I'm just disapointed and slightly sad that after all thinking that due to the mistery it would be something good I'd just end up being eating pizza... sure, slightly better looking, with better stats pizza, but in the end, it's just pizza.

So, I'm not saying make 'em better, just, for the next time you do a quest like this be so nice as to tell us what the prize is, so that we do not waste electricity for nothing (in retaliation, I can't turn on my computer for the next 3 weeks).

Also, as a sc user here... Why do I feel such hostility from other users at times? as if we have money for everything??? What do you guys think we are? Money sheeting donkeys (reference to a german childrens tale, if you censor this you're stupid)?

Sorry for the rant, I'm unsatisfied and was expecting more, next time I'll just go about with my own business. I rarely do these kind of event from fiesta anymore anyways.

All my reasons are given in the thread, as well as an offer for anyone to come up with a legitimate reason why the pet should be changed.

Im on the Epith Server, and looking at the screenies from people on the Legal server that recieved the Coat of Arms, it appears to be VERY similar. If we ARE going to be testing Server vs. Server pvp arena, dont you think it's a credible argument that the Coats, being representative of your individual SERVER be different enough to notice?

For those on LEGAL- is yours Yellow/Golden or what?Ours is Yellow/golden witha red mini-dragon and silvery/grey trim.

And personally, not to be rude or greedy or whatever other label people like to throw around in regards to this subject, the CoA was supposed to be a "MARK OF DISTINCTION". Now if my vocabulary skills serve me correctly, this implys something rather special, does it not? +3 isnt alltogether that special, I can BUY better, but to add insult, others will be able to buy the CoA in the future, perhaps after we beta test a svs pvp arena? well fiesta is a game, CoA virtual shield with +3 stats, most people don't like it. So most of those people that hate it ask for it to be better. Well this is something they've wasted their time on. but for what? a shield that has one more stat than the christmas pets? seriously that sucks so why not speak out to change this problem?

On another note, I do see both sides of the argument. Yes, it's supposed to be a "Mark of Distinction" but honestly, all you had to do was waste electricity and hope you didn't dc. You really didn't have to do anything else. The prize matches the effort, in my opinion.

As for the other side of the argument, it would probably be better if the graphic didn't collide with the characters hair....because it does look silly. So maybe scale it down, change colors on Epith/Legal, or w/e.

I understand it's was supposed to be grand, but like I said, all people had to do was to pay a few bucks extra on their electricity bill, which I don't think matters anyway, considering how often people play and vend and such. I mean come on, it's a F2P game.

I have no issue with the stats, or distribution.

My only qualm is with the color. I am on Bijou, home of the horrible green CoA. The Black, Orange, Yellow, or Red CoA's would have matched me just fine. The blue I could live with. But, my server gets the green one. Just my luck. I would have preferred a different design on each server but with our choice of color. Of coarse, this is just "whining," I won a pet that I would like to wear, but feel silly doing so because the year+ in outfits I have purchased while they were in the store clash with said pet. My normal armor does so as well.

As for the "coat from grandma" thing, I have no issue saying "Thank you for the coat Nana, but I'm going to exchange it for one that I am more likely to wear." In my family we put gift receipts with everything clothing-wise, because we know we all don't have the same tastes and don't always get the right sizes.

But I suppose the analogy is more fitting for a hand knit sweater that you keep but never wear. You may not like it but you keep it anyways for sentimental value. You just wish that grandma had put on her glasses and realized that lime green is not an awesome color for a sweater >.> .

Offtopic, while the event was going on I was in the process of designing my own coat of arms for this society I was getting inducted into. I had a green background in mind, but I could -not- use the bright green that every other CoA with green used. It didn't look right, it was way too bright, so it didn't stand out enough against the argent(white/silver). I talked to the person in charge, and got everyone else's changed to a darker green so there was more contrast. Then I log in to find that the same bright green is going to be haunting me in Fiesta, joy.

Yup...just disappointed in the fact that it was a pet...I think we have enough pets. I was hoping with something cool that you dont see as much of, like the crown. stats aren't great either but W/E.

In a forum which everyone was guessing what the CoA was...one of the GMs(I think it was Silkypico) said that we would never guess what it was, after 5+ people guess that it was a pet that was a shield, so it gave me hope that it was something cool. Not another pet!!!

Thanks for posting exactly what I was thinking. Ya'll know that Sking designed this himself. Hasn't anyone thought about his feelings in all this? You know, releasing your work to a bunch of people that you think are gonna appreciate the hard work you did, just to get flamed for it from every direction? Seriously. My opinion, is I like it. I like the detail on it, I like the glow. The size doesn't bother me, but I see how it might bother some, especially those with fros. I appreciate that it's in different colors, and yeah 2 servers are similar in color but I don't see how that matters much. If it were pink or purple that server's male population would be complaining even more. I appreciate that Sking designed this for us, instead of tossing some pre-made thing at us from the myriad of choices that he probably had. And I'm grateful that it's perm, not 30-day or some such.

Something else to think about that might make the two having a similar color obsolete. 3 servers have a red dragon.... 3 have a silver one... I'll let you ponder that. (and no, I don't know some secret from OS, I came up with the thought on my own)

i got it. im happy i got it...thanks, but im more on the dissapointed side. the only good thing i see is the possible server vs server thing...but i'll have to wait and see.

now the distinction thing is cool, since i'm new, i'm not sure what this crown is, but the CoA should have been something like a crown (cuz i'm assuming it goes on the head)...we should not be rewarded something where it would have to take away from something we already had in place(hence the head item would be good)....it's that simple...it should be an extra item, not a replacement item with extra stats. now...honestly, if the CoA was a +1 to all stat item, but say it was a perm item in a brand new spot (other shoulder? something like a sealed sword) i'd be so much more enthused about the item.

1) I know I don't have lots of sc. In fact, I have about none. Most of my sc is gifts from friends. I have a Gateway MA7, I run on XP.

2) I love the pet. Yeah, I was kinda hoping it was something really awesome from all the hype, but I love it anyways. Blue happens to be my favorite color.

3) The only thing I'm upset about is this "pvp, server vs server." I did the quest on my archer, who- I might add, I'll probably only get to max, level 70 eventually. Simply because I can't furnish gears for her after 70. I'm squishey, I don't enjoy pvp and I better have a choice on whether to participate or not.

I only have 2 complaints;

i. It's a pet therefore you have to wear it over the ones you buy in the store/game.

this is okay I guess, but with me, I want to wear the 50 wolves I have from my tc packs which are better statted. BUT I would have liked to be able to wear this "CoA" all the time. Thinking it would be something really cool. And or better than something you can get in the store.

that being said, I agree that people shouldn't be so greedy. BUT I was literally online 27/7 for those days. Unless I dc'd. Not saying I HAD to nor was I made to but I really thought it would be something different, REALLY something that stood out from just a pet. Granted I might be being selfish, but when someone makes such a HUGE hype over something then it turns out to be something less beneficial than the things you can buy from the OS store. Guess you are probably going to have some disappointed people.

ii. When os puts a HUGE announcement and threads saying how cool it will be, and it turns out it's just not really THAT cool. You will get people that are like AWWWWWW THAT SUCKS. which is what you have now.

Example. all year your mom tells you all year that she has the BEST gift for you, tells you all these things it "could be" and gets you all excited.

Christmas day: You get socks with miss piggy on them. Not exactly what you were expecting and naturally you will be a little let down.

Like it was said before, a Mark of Distinction doesn't refer to having incredible stats. When you see a character with the Coat of Arms, the first thing you look at aren't stats but the item itself. It's suppose to be a privilege to have/wear one of these 'never to be seen again in an event' pets. I like the shield shape and the dragon on it and also the wings. Was actually expecting it to be a pet and look like somewhat of a shield, having had the name Coat of Arms. True, maybe Bijou could have used a different shade of green (like a bit darker) but i still like it.

As for the stats, i don't see anything wrong considering the number of winners. When you have 500 players on each server, giving out a +5 pet or even higher is a bit too much in my opinion. I like to keep things balanced whenever possible. Plus, to win you didn't necesarily have to do anything. Just launch Fiesta and stay on for a long amount of time, which i'm sure a few players would have done anyway. From what i heard some didn't even try so hard and they still won. A computer doesn't waste as much energy as a microwave or washing machine do though. You should see how my counter light keeps blinking when the washing machine is on. I mean, during the day i keep my PC always open, just doing different stuff at different hours. (Yeah we can see if we're using lots of electricity by looking at a light on the messuring device. If it blinks too fast it means a lot of power is being used. Right now i have the computer and a tv on and it hardly blinks; it's normal pace)

We're suppose to enjoy these events for the sake of fun and for the sake of the game. We should feel more involved with our characters and Isya ^^

Well I like the pet itself. I would have liked more stats on it ( I would also like a new sports car but don't see that happening soon ). The biggest problem I see ( for me anyway ) is not with the pet but with the fact that I can not storage my wedding pet ( or this one ). I wear my pet and so does alot of people I see. The design is nice ( some say to big but I have seen bigger in other MMOs ) but again not being able to storage these and SC items can cause a problem.

As a said before if we had a way of storing these items alot of people would be more happy, more SC items would be payed for and so on.

When people don't know what to expect they end up expecting to much and in the end will never get what they expected. I am glad you took the time to help make this game fun.

The key problem is not even with the pet and most likely not in your control but hopely someone can direct the devs into doing something about the storage problem.

i think the term "Mark of Distinction" is more about something physically then the stats.


take the crown as example, wat does it do? nothing, no stats at all. but its still a Mark of Distinction by showing the others players ur accomplishment, something that distinct u from others.

if i see someone with a crown, ill say to myself: "ohh this player did the 2008 valentine quest. he must be an old player."

OMG ppl stop using the crown as an excuse. I have one simple question. When you started the valentines event, did you know you were going to receive a crown as a reward? If yes then, there you go, you wasted time because you wanted the crown, the reward was something you wanted. If not, there are TWO big differences between crown and the pet. 1. You can switch it from character to character and put it into the storage. 2. It CAN'T BE BOUGHT by sc users, as, if I undewrstood correctly, will be the case of the CoA.

I don't hate my pet anymore, but it's so unimportant it'll stay in the last inventory space where it will just take precious space.

I wasn't a fan of the big bulky heart pet. I agree with those that say CoA size should be scaled down a bit. I dont want it honeying/slime/kebing small...or Tila heart big..I want my porridge juuuust right. ;)

well in my opinion "legal" server is the only ones with the rights to complain!

and the reason i say this is because when cypion came out with their contest they won 1000000 sc. a +10 pet cost around 5000sc ...and the one awarded is only +3 which makes it only worth around 1700sc.

two weeks into the compatition, we find out other servers will receive our exact same prize for just sitting in a vender. now come on... thats not right.
starting a new server means no items exist to help you on your way. no money exist to buy the items that anyone finds... not to mention that not even close to 500 people got one. but still the rest of the servers got a cakewalk to earn their's. all the other servers list of winners was longer than ours simply for the fact that they was established servers having to do nothing but log in.

now i am very thankful that i received a reward for my effort...but for the other servers there was no effort and lots more people was awarded a prize for their no effort.

as for the color and size... i could care less, and the stats are not really that important.

but the fact we are going to svs with all the other servers and half our population that won one plays on other servers, where they was awarded one their also for just being logged in.

now im sure that all who won one on legal put in just as many log in hours as the winners on the other servers, so yea we deserve the coa for that alone.
but we won a whole different type of compatition plus filled the other servers
requirements to be logged in the most hours on our server.

therefor "legal" should be awarded a different or better prize than the rest of the servers. and let me tell you if it comes to wearing that +3 pet in svs where half the people that won on legal are gonna be representing a differant server... i think i would choose a +10 pet to take with me!

Why you ask?If I were to level a character up to 50 in 15 days,I'd want a better reward for it too.(considering I got 4 characters to level 50 in about a year.yeah,I'm generally a slow leveler)Many people spent a lot of SC on this too(I don't use SC) and in a way,a lot of their money was spent on simply getting an extra +1 to all stats.

Main reason:If people knew that the coat of arms was a huge item which gave only one stat more than the santa/rudolph/wedding pet,they might have not participated in the first place at all!(so possibly that was the reason for the secrecy)
but then again,many people don't really care about the stats.They just want to be elite!

the heart pet come from the tela tequila set and gives +15 to all stats

the reward was not really exclusive and yes all the main players on all the servers have one. we built them the econamy for a whole new server... which gives more play options to the new players being recruitted to feista.
and all we got was a "slap in the face". let me sell you a suv for 40,000 dollars... and just give one to everyone else... would you feel ripped off... we'll i do!!!

"legal" deserves a permanent weapon skin for all its winners. give us what we deserve a parmanent coat for our arm... :)

I like the CoA. I really like the dragon emblem, the wings the CoA has and its little spiny spin. The design is lovely. I am a casual player and easy going so i am ok with the +3 stats. It only replaced a regular +1 stat pet for me.

Before the contest started no-one knew the reward, therefore it was a gamble. CoA is permanent and rewarded to 500 players per server except Legel (only 415 or something qualified) so i didn't really get my hope up for getting a super awesome price.

One of the complaints that i agree with is that you can't store the pet. If you get a pet by itself or as part of a pack from the store then its taking up one extra inventory space.

The other complaint that was mentioned earlier in the thread is that in the COA discussion thread there were several users who guessed it was a pet but a gm posted that no-one would ever guess it. Seems misleading.

No matter what the CoA was, it would have to be worn over an sc item that was purchased. Making a pet for the other shoulder would have been awesome but i highly doubt that will ever happen. Well not any time soon anyway.

Bottom line - players with their own free will participated for an unknown item. Deal with it. Only change should be that it can be stored.

On second thought, i want a blue one because thats one of my favorite colors or purple. Definitely purple. Change please!

The item is supposed to link you to some future pvp events like server vs server,the colour needs to stay so there's some distinction between enemy and ally,and if you would be able to store it you could go there with a under lvl 50 char .-.

EDIT: Then again you probably won't be able to attack your own server anyway,but it's still a way to know what's your home server,wear it proudly!* is happy hers matches her colour theme*

i know they are different items, different event, diffrerent situation..but they both share something in common really important (probably the most important) : they are a Mark of Distinction.

I asked if there was a way to cancel votes, because someone is obviously multi-account voting for a gag option.
For those that do not know, because they have not looked at my thread or because they didn't actually read it, my thread was a collection of the more common reactions, most of which are idiotic as the reasons the why CoA is that way is obvious. I am happy that I got it, it looks very nice, the only problems I have with it are that the wings keep going into my characters head, there is no real problem with this, it's just...change your sigi freak! making it hard to finish my post >.<*lol*...it's just kind of annoying, detracts from the appeal of the CoA itself and that Epith's and Legel's look too similar for them to be practical in the server vs server. The quote at the beginning of this thread was in response to how many people were posting on mine, without actually reading it. I believe Drig has apologized posting so quickly, though he obviously still believes, with good reason, there are others who are complaining, I congratulate him on putting him keyboard where his mouth is. Others simply got grumpy for being made a fool of and left the thread. The thread has been closed as, what appears to be, a misunderstanding.
