I've never been a GM for an online game before, and like most people I am curious about a few things. I will refrain from asking the typical game-related questions because honestly, if you wanted us to know about something you would tell us ;)

DISCLAIMER: I do not want to appear presumptuous by asking these questions. I am sure you are all very busy people, and I thought this might be a welcome little distraction at least from your daily grind :)

Now, on to the questions:

1. What is the average age of a typical GM?

2. What is the most difficult aspect of being a GM?

3. What is the best or most fun part of being a GM?

4. How long did it take you to become a GM?

5. What is the funniest moment you can recall in your GM career?

6. What is the most important trait(s) that someone would want to develop to become a GM in the future?

8. What do you do for work outside of the GM career? (If any)

9. How time consuming is the job?

10. What are the different kinds of GMs one might find at any particular company?

I hope you don't mind me asking these questions. Thanks in advance for the responses (if you have the time, of course ;))

Decent questions although it's different for all games, a GM can range in age from 5-80 just really depends on the amount of experience and professionalism that one can display.

I recall a Private RO server that had a GM which was only 9 years old, but by talking with them and dealing with them you'd think they were 30. The spelling, grammar and the way they explained things were top notch.

Again, good questions but are you talking about just for SoS or MMOs altogether?

I intended these questions for the general career of a GM, not company-specific.

I suppose they are, indeed, too busy :p
