Seeing most of the MMORP till here, the way to sell items in personal shop is a little chaotic and confusing. More of this we can see market place crawling of ppl, making the game laggy...
Why no set up an auction house like we saw in FF XI Online? Everybody can put items in sale, can compair prices on classified lists well organised like in general shops, gathering all informations and items in THE SAME PLACE for all.
I know OB is really for soon now but GMs, please think about it, it can be a really good idea!

i aggree!
it probably wastes so much of peoples time setting up shop on the square while they could be out enjoying the game. and also when looking for items you can see items and prices at a glance, instead of asking around at the swuare (and most people that have set up shop are not sitting behind their computer)
that would really stimulate trady, and allow for price comparison so create a tree trade supply/demand market.

Yeah i think so too! Opening personal shop is really a waste of time...
I hope GM's will really think about it!

just one question, what do you want to do with the millions you get from selling a whole pile of Xen stones, warermellons, lucky balls etc.
personally i pick up all the armour and equipment i need from drops, and get more than enough money from selling stuff to buy all the potions i need. i end out making more money then expenses, and don't have anything else i want to buy.
what do you want to buy with all that money?
or is it just to get a nice number of the bottum of the inventory screen, only to have it vanish when we go into OB.

I wasnt thinking to set up an Auction house for the CB but for the OB !;)
U know, it can be very usefull coz sometimes u cant find ur equipment when waiting for drops, so u can buy it that way.
U know too some items like Xen Stones cost a lot, so if u want to upgrade ur stuff by ursef , u need to sell lot of items to b able to buy some.
Thats just a point of view ;) thx for giving urs

yes, i can see the point of auction houses, i think it's very useful, especially when buying things to be able to see alll items and prices in one spot.
i know i've often wanted an item, asked around at the market square, and most people were away from thier computer. in the end i find it easier to buy and sell armour/standard equip from NPC even if the selling price is half the buying price.
so anyway, this person selling their xen stone, please tell me what you want to do with all your money.

auction houses are convenient but also very impersonal. One of the charms to RO back in the day was the Personal Shops. I think that given the nature of the game, the social aspect of personal shops is preferable to a window that is merely just an auction house.
Maybe at some later date depending on how the itemization turns out... but at the moment i am more in favor of personal shops.

here's my thought about your suggestion.. auction house should be brought up IF we have rare items to auction.. i know there are rare items out there like xen stones, yellow watermelons and what? what i think is we have a shortage of rare items to auction.. unlike other mmorpgs where you get rare cards from monsters or rare items that only Boss monsters drop.. i think they should put up more rare items before they put up an auction house to auction rare items off..

auction house is also good for non-rare items.
e.g. if I found a amour of the root while being a rogue I’d just auction it off instead of selling it for half price to a NPC.
that would mean significantly more cash from drops.
then when going up a level i'd buy from auction house instead of NPC as it'd be cheaper then NPC.
supply and demand will dictate the price of items, naturally the price will be somewhere between the buying and selling price of NPC(if it is a item tradable by NPC).
naturally the auction house should take 5-10% off all transactions.
prices will fluctuate, so people could also get a income by buying when the price is cheap (more supply then demand) and selling when the price is high(more demand then supply).
then you'd also get lots of interesting aspects (like the facebook pirates trade market) where buyers would purposely sell items at a lower price to introduce more supply in the market, bringing the price of goods down so they can then buy later at a lower price.
or sellers going around buying mass quantities to artificially introduce a demand for the item, bringing the price up, and then selling their goods later at the inflated price.
this not only saves a lot of time for shop keepers and buyers, but also brings a whole new aspect to the economy. in the end probably increasing economical cash flow and the amount of trading.

all it does is create a player based npc. The point is that if it is not a rare item, why wouldnt a player just to an npc to buy it? In RO there was a class that focused on item creation, they would then sell it in their own shops or be approached with an offer to make X item. That is a good setup for this type of game.
For non rare items, its not really worth the effort.
