Okay so lately I've seen like a dozen of threads about this. I just thought if we could sticky it or something, new players might see it too before posting a new thread about the exact same issue again and again. * Edit: Sticky-ed! ;D Cookies for CSR_Circe!
So in case someone registered, downloaded the game and after logging in the game says 'You are not in our servive area' or something like that, it means that you are playing the wrong version of Fiesta.
Outsparks Fiesta is for players from the USA and Canada, and similar to Outspark Gamigo and other companies bought the hosting rights of the game for their areas. In march (2009) an IP-block was introduced in order to keep out European players (and players from the Phlillipines?).
Anyhow if you are from Europe and you got the message, search for Gamigo as you are unfortunately not able to play this version of the game :S
If you are from elsewhere, go to FiestaOnline.net to see which versions are available for the different areas. There are no other legal versions besides Outspark and Gamigo currently.
Here's the official post ('quoted') about the IP block:
EU and Philippine IP block on 03/31/2009 [03.17.09]
Hello Fiesta players,
We would like to inform you of a small change to our terms of service and want to thank you for continuing to enjoy Fiesta and the other great online games available at Outspark.com.
Beginning March 31, 2009, new Outspark accounts created by residents of the European Union and the Philippines will be unable to play Fiesta. European countries affected include Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Switzerland and Turkey.
What does this mean? If you reside in one of the aforementioned countries and create an Outspark.com account on or after March 31, 2009, you will be unable to login to Fiesta. You may, however, enjoy other Outspark games.
Please be aware that this change only applies to NEW accounts. Residents of the European Union and the Philippines who created an Outspark account prior to March 31, 2009 will NOT be affected and may continue to enjoy Fiesta when using these accounts.
Thank you,
-Outspark Staff.
Big thanks for Shadowic2 for finding the official post for the thread :3 Cookies for you too ~ ;D
If you are from Europe, registered BEFORE the IP block, you can still play.
If you are from Europe, registered AFTER the IP block and you are still able to play then you are one of the few lucky players who are not affected by the IP block although they should be. Don't worry about it, just enjoy the game ;P
I hope this thread will be helpful/useful for everyone who has this problem.

Thank you ;_; I so hoped this thread wouldn't get forgotten the second time aswell... So thank you for stopping by and commenting.
Almost every 3rd-4th request for help is about this topic and I was already re-quoting myself the idontknowhowmanieth time in order to help, so I believe that this needs more attention. I even wrote the title with capitals in order to be easily seen XP And well a lot of people came here and actually read it -according to the threadviews- and I sure hope that some people found answers for their question before they would open a new thread for it.
It's just...if the thread won't be commented, it'll be forgotten quickly and new people with the same issue won't see it ._.
Anyhow feel free to comment here, just say hi or thank you -if it helped- or anything to keep it alive in order to inform the foreign players.
Thank you ~

Yeah, I'm certainly not a big genius but I try to help at the Support threads whenever I can... and this specific 'problem' came up rather often, maybe too often in seperate threads of course... so I thought it might be helpful to let the foreign players know about it before there would be more threads about it :3
But I still can't find that official notice about the IP block XP Could someone help me, please?

This is how things work, fair or not each host company has their own service area where they provide their own version of the game.
If you have an account that was made before the IP block, you should be able to play with it. However you won't be able to play with a new account, but if you already have one it shouldn't matter. :)

My 2 cents on the topic, the reply I have pre-formatted on the subject, and have been using for ages:
Ok, so, Outspark is one publisher of Fiesta, a game that's created by Ons Ons Soft, a gaming company. Ons Ons soft sells the license to the game in different countries, and Outspark owns it for Canada, Mexico, and the USA.
Other companies own the license for Fiesta is other countries. For example, Gamigo owns the European version. By law/contract, Outspark may not allow people from Europe to connect to their version of Fiesta, and so there is an IP block in place for people from those locations that try to connect. The IP block error message, however, is bugged, and usually shows up as a bunch of symbols.
If you're getting this picture:
http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/2906/errorijf.jpg
Then you can't play Outspark's Fiesta, you need to find a different company to play Fiesta from.
Alternatively, you may play one of our other games, such as Secret of the Solstice.
^_^ Have a nice day!
^_^ Well-written, I like it. Hope it cuts down on the number of people posting about it.

Yup, and the way I deal with it is as I said, I have a few preformmated replies (Specifically: Connection to the servers has failed, this one, and Pando media booster) since almost ALL errors are those, and corruption. Which I still need to write.
^_^ I like having them, since it's the same information each time.

You can play any of Outspark's other games, and Gamigo hosts a (VERY) bad version of Fiesta on their servers.
I strongly recommend one of OS's other games...

And in some rare cases the IP block might not affect people from the listed country -such as myself, I have registered AFTER the IP ban and my country is on the list <.< But I'm glad I'm here, I love this community-
Also don't forget that Europeans who registered BEFORE the IP block can play too.

Why ban the Philippines?
The-Sakura
11-05-2009, 08:14 AM
Legal issues- Outspark doesn't want to, but another company owns the rights to the game in the Phillipines, and so by the terms of contracts or another, they aren't allowed to give service to the areas where other companies own the game.

Please watch your language. Such language is not tolerated on these forums.
The IP block does not apply to those who were playing before the cut-off date.
If you're a European player who used to play on Outspark's Fiesta at one point in time, you should still be able to play if you are still trying to access the game through that account and not a new one.
The IP block was only put in place because of another publisher providing the game in the European area. It is common practice for publishing companies that host the same game to block each-other's target audience so that they can not only respect each other's contractual obligations, but to keep hold of the audience they wish to publish a game for. Due to legal reasons, Outspark cannot take down this IP block, and Gamigo cannot take down theirs.

You should put it on the beginning of the homepage so everyone can see that they can't play if they don't have an IP from the states... Like me. Well yeah I downloaded it and had to find it out myself I just wasted 30 min of my life downloading a game I can't even play. Well Done!

SweetLavender

the problem is with people who aren't downloading the European version if they live in Europe Oo why spend 5 hours downloading this version when you can download theirs in like 20 minutes? lol. I mean sure we're ahead of them in some things which is obvious since the North American version has been around longer, but who knows, maybe they'll be a better company if they ever catch up ;)

Most people don't realize there's a version in their area. Outspark is (apparently) the most popular version, and they DO advertise a lot more than the other versions.

Well what a great way to shut down Military Dependents. My dad is in the Air Force, I live in Germany and I started playing Fiesta when it first came out in open beta. I see how it is. Now I have plenty of friends who want to play and I do too but I can't because guess what there is an IP block. And I did try Gamigo. The UK server has 5 people max. So doing Kingdom quests is out of the question because the majority of the people are high lvls. Great huh? I love how some games are so supportive of our troops. THUMBS DOWN OUTSPARK!

Actually, there should be some sort of warning before you download that states that you may not be able to connect to the Outspark servers. Outspark does not block people from downloading the game, just the connection to it.
Outspark has nothing to do with the European version. That version is hosted by a completely different company. Their issues are their own.
As for placing the IP block in the first place, they had to. It is common practice for publishing companies to block out regions when another publishing company pops up. They must do this for legal reasons.
Then.....
I download the version europa?

Just... Why is there no warning whatsoever? if you can block the IP, then why not check it beforehand?!
Probably mentioned a lot, but it needs to be fixed... It isn't fair for people who doesn't know this. At least WRITE it on the DL page. I actually looked for something like that before downloading, but since there wasn't any such warning I proceeded.

European countries affected include Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Switzerland and Turkey.

How did you lost your characters? You are playing from an IP blocked country but had an active account from before the block? Your characters should be fine then. This forum thread is to inform those who are ip blocked. If you have any other issue, please write a ticket to a CSR.

Er...so, you want someone to give you an account, which is account sharing/trading and a bannable offense, so you can play for a day or so before the account gets banned?
And asking someone to commit a bannable offense for you, in the forums of the company that would do the banning? Brilliant...

You can't get in. Read the first post in the thread, it explains all that. Look up your local version, and good luck.

Philippines will stay IP-Blocked till the license is expired. I don't know till what date they had it but you can't do anything but wait. And your friend is most likely using an account from before the IP-Block started.

no, I'm talking about the version for philippines. I went to gameclub, where the version for the philippines is available. I saw 3 options: manual patch, cumulative patch, and the free download(which I percieved as downloading everything again). I was wondering if I should just download the patch only, like just change the patch (I think this is not possible, but still just to make sure) OR uninstall the one I downloaded here and download the game all over again in the other site. sorry if u misunderstood.:( But If u really understood, sorry if I misunderstood in advance.:(

I wanted to download a game to keep me occupied while I was on holiday, I've just spent about 3 hours downloading this and it tells me I can't play it?! Unbelieveable.
I don't remember seeing anything on the website saying 'Do not download if you're in Europe or had an account before this date' or whatever the issues are
It's a good job I'm still relatively interested and need something to play or I'd just uninstall and walk away.

I made an account at exactly December 01, 2007 and I decided to play Fiesta just yesterday. However, when I accessed the game it still says that I'm not in their service area. Is there anyway to fix this problem? I want to play in the North American server because even though we have our own Fiesta, no one plays the here. =w=

Nope, you cannot do so.. Since you created that account in late 2007 you still would have been able to play NA Fiesta here but you have been inactive for 3 years almost? So therefore any priveleges you would of had of playing have been decimated, stripped, annihilated, obliterated, destroyed, demolished.

i used to play during the beta and abit after im from europe, UK actually and my account was deleted after about 2 months of inactivity [School] and well that was bad but i thought whenever i had time i'd just remake my account and i did in early 2009 then when the time came and the new rules were in place my account did not work and as i gave up it was again deleted after so so time i really find these games to be tiring because of silly terrtorial things
Its late posting this i know but i DID send in a ticket at the time and i just got the "your not in our service area" so i tryed again with a ticket and got the same awnser whats the use of sending people to send tickets if its not helping at all?

@ Jes10: I'm not sure, some of the supposedly IP banned countries can still bypass the IP ban. If your friends have the time, it can be worth downloading Outspark's Fiesta Online and see if it lets them play or not. If it will say 'not in our service area' I'm afraid we can't help you guys. But until you see that message, I believe it's worth trying :) Good luck!
@ Robbiedean1994: I think you can play the European Version, but you may also try to join this one. As mentioned above, until you get that dreaded message, it is possible. But for most European countries Gamigo is hosting Fiesta Online, and not Outspark. Good luck!

Baktwerel

@ oase4: The account you currently commented on was registered last year. From that account, if you are from an IP blocked country, you can't play. If you can however log into your 2007 account, you should be able to play just fine.
@matt55512: The Authentication Failed message usually appears when you want to switch servers. For any other case I am not sure what the solution would be. I'd try to reinstal Fiesta and see if it happens again. If you absolutely can't play even after that, you should send a ticket to a CSR.

Baktwerel
04-06-2011, 03:45 AM
@ anheloxdemon: I'm afraid you have to if you got that error
@ dragonasking1993: It is because European countries have their own licensed version and the host (Gamigo) has the right to host that version for them, while this version (Outspark) only has the right to host the game for North America. Some European countries can still play there, they are simply unaffected by the IP block or simply aren't licensed for the European version, Germany and the UK however are strongly protected IP wise. So I'm afraid this cannot be helped :S As much as OS wouldn't mind you guys playing this version, their contract does not allow them to lift the IP block I assume.

I understand all of this but one thing I don't. I invited 2 of my friends to play this version, the US version of Fiesta, which I play as well. My friend A was able to login to the game without receiving this "not in our service area" error message, but my friend B got this error. oh and we are all from Finland. so why didn't the IP block happen to my friend A but only friend B? for me it's working cuz I've been playing since year 2008 or 2009. and they both created their accounts on 19.4.2011.
[so what is the problem?]edit: I thought about this case with my other friend and we thought, that can it be that my friend A's 3G modem is at fault for giving her the ability to access the US server from Finland? Are these 3G modem internet dongles able to avoid this IP block?

I just noticed the new responses (a bit late).
@ partanen_ : I'm not sure, I think their country is blocked in general but may be bypassed. For example Hungary is also supposedly a blocked country but until now I've seen many people register and play from that country without issues. Then again there might be Hungarians who can't enter the game due to the IP block, I am not sure why this happens. If you haven't resolved this issue with friend B, I suggest him/her to send a ticket about this.
@SeanSpark: This thread can't really get necrod as it is stickied for all the people with this issue, whenever they encounter it.
@drkross89: You must be confusing something there. US players can play this version. This version is hosted for them by Outspark. The EU version is hosted by Gamigo. These are two completely different clients with different servers, updates, level caps, etc. There is absolutely no way for in game connection between the two clients. The EU client is for the EU game and the US client for the US game. Sorry :s

Are the european players still not available to play? I guess i am from the lucky. I am from bulgaria, europe and play w/o problems as like all my frs. None from bulgaria got ip block. I this they removed it since they added mobile payment for bulgaria. Why they should add blocked country!?

@ isak1995: I hope you could discuss this issue with the CSR and get a solution.
@ newtonl14: You are welcome. I'm glad you have found the answers to your questions here.
@ avgost_: Some European countries are not affected by the IP block (or just partially affected), despite being on the blocked countries list. My country Hungary doesn't seem to be affected either and I met many Hungarian players who registered and played without an issue. Other than us I only know of the Netherlands being ignored by the block - and possibly Bulgaria now too. No idea about the payment thingy -it could be unrelated to OS-.

Well there is a way somehow i dont know if it works but someone should try xD
NOTICE: before doing that u should log on with your e-mail and password!!! its very important.
Press Start go where says "Run" (for w7 or vista) write regedit. A new windows will switch out, in english called Registry Editor, well now open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, some new folder will apear ignore them, just open the Software one.Search for Outspark.com open the subfolder and then go to Fiesta.Done this just look what that folder contains, search the login_ip file and open it, you will see an ip,if i´m not wrong that ip its of the computer where u made your account i guess, just change that ip by another one, one of the U.S or another country that its not affected by the ip block. What i mentioned earlier its not 100% guaranteed its just a lame trick that may work, so don´t flame xD.

It is a fine line when sending out emails to invite players or former players to check out a new game or feature, especially when one developer has some geographic restrictions. We chose to send the emails to all eligible players because there are a good many former players who are "grandfathered" in. This means that the account was "in before the lock" so to speak. We don't have an easy way of isolating those accounts from others, and so we chose to send it to all.
If you do not want to receive emails for Fiesta, you can change that setting in your Settings:

We have a lot of new players, if that is what you mean by "outsiders"? This is not a private club, we welcome new players to our games and our community. Its how a game grows. ;)
