Death by Invisible Monsters

My lvl 27 fighter just died in forest of mist because i was apparently attacked by a large group of monsters, but i couldn't see any of them. I just saw my character getting hit and when i clicked around randomly, a red circle would sometimes pop up saying I was targeting a monster. I killed a few but kept getting hit so I ran to the portal, and when I clicked on the portal the message asking me if I would like to leave wouldn't pop up. I then died, and the message asking me if I would like to return to town wouldn't pop up either, nor a "would you like to revive?" when a cleric revived me.

I'm not aksing for anything but merely reporting. I don't know if it was my computer lagging or a bug in the game.. if it was a bug, however, it should probably be fixed.
