Im not sure, and correct me if Im wrong, but if I read it right, why does Thieve's Guild Master NPC Raymond "regreat" our decition when we choose scout/archer/ranger path?.

Edit: I dont recall if he's also ashamed.

Anybody got a clue about this?.

Raymond is a bit of an elitist. He's under the absurd delusion that the only honorable way to fight is up close and personal with a dagger, not blasting someone from a mile away with a longbow.

He also has a kind of soft heart. There is no Descendant of Heroes in charge of the Archers' Guild, and he's uncomfortable with a member of the Thieves' Guild going their own way without the guidance he would be able to normally offer. Really though, he's a little too emo about it because you have to visit him again to change to Archer at level 80 anyway. Notice that when you do so, he kind of takes your change for granted, so it's not like he misses his departing Neophytes who choose to become Scouts much anyway.

Of course, none of this has any bearing on any aspect of gameplay whatsoever. This is merely Solstice's attempt at adhering to a "plot" or "storyline", which you may have noticed by now is pretty much totally absent from the game. Interesting question nonetheless.

Well, I dont like Raymond at all anymore. I say we backstab him as soon as possible. xD

On another note, thanks for the answer.
