Skill Empowering HELP!

Sorry but I've just started playing Fiesta in less than an hour.
I can't seem to understand why can't I empower my skill when I already have 1 skill point.
I'm already level 3. By right, I can learn healing, right?
But I don't know how to empower a kill.
I tried to click on the arrows of the skills but it doesn't work!
Please help, thanks in advance.

First, you drag the skill into the empty square, then, you use the arrows and press confirm, (or whatever it says.) Don't worry. It took me to about level 13 to finally grasp that.

left click on the *attack* spell. you should be able to equip the skill to the box the same way as anything else.
