December Event Idea

Greetings fellow players,

I am here to bring the community, maybe the OutSpark Staff, an idea which many people should love... Here it is, after a few minutes of thinking, the Advant Calendar.

Yup ^^, the Advant Calendar. I tought that this would make many people happy :D
I think that most people know what it is an Advant Calendar so I won't explain it. I tought about 2 ways this could be done.

#1: Each day, starting December 1st to December 25th or 31st, GM's could log into each server and do a quick "Find the GM". A few numbers of winner will receive a prize of any kind. It could be from treasure chests to Premium Items.

#2: Each day, starting December 1st to December 25th or 31st, we could have redeem codes which would give us a little number of SparkCash or a little item. (We had an item in 2008) Every player could redeem it so there won't be any limit but the code would expire the next day.

Now, I would like your opinions about it!

I think he meant "a code per day." As in today's code would expire at midnight, then tomorrow's would run the next 24 hours.

Maybe instead of it being an all month long thing, and having the same event every day..how about shortening it to a 12 Days of Christmas sort of thing? Each day would have a different sort of event to add a bit more variety and fun to it. Some of them could involve a Find a GM event and such.

Actually, for event ideas, have have them brainstormed and planned out months ahead so we can get get them down as good as possible. But let's see what we can do with what we have here...

I don't mind having a little Find-a-GM for Christmas gifts. Sounds like loads of fun and everyone can have a chance at a little something.

As for the second idea, it's best to have the players work their way to the award. A gift needs to be earned, right? Maybe they should have to do a Christmas riddle or the like, and the answer would be the redeem code? Things like that.

Make it easy to get the redeem code then, because there's no Christmas fun in laboring frustratingly for hours to get an item. I would work for a perm item though, but that would make a better event quest than daily thing. A little riddle would be nice, but I'm not quite sure how that would work. O.o Maybe OS could play as Santa this year and give everyone a little something nice on Christmas Day. :D

If that happens everyone will get the code whether they solve it or not.I remember working in a group to slove the codes.Every one will probably work in a group to solve it and then there are those who will shout the code in eldy...I thinks what Bribbo does is the best for now

I know he is doing great with puzzles now, but I meant like he could make quick questions daily or a few times, not too hard, or too easy, just to give people a challenge for redeem codes.

I'm all for free stuff. The word "Advent" makes me feel very uncomfortable.

Well, for one, the Christmas Event last year was somewhat of a disaster. Until they put the level restrictions on the FBZ to keep higher levels from killing lower levels to get chests, only the 80+ were getting chests.

I rather like the riddle-a-day thing. Some small cypher at a specific time. The time would be broadcasted throughout the day so no one misses. There's no limit on how many can solve it and redeem the prize. Christmas Spirit, and all. If there was a limit, a lot of people wouldn't be too happy.

Funny enough, I still have my Christmas 30-day hat from last year's event.

I personally think there should be an event for a permenant Elf Costume (the green one). I absolutely LOVE that costume.

And I also think the Santa costumes (white, red and black) shouldn't be in packs. I remember in 2007 they were by themselves (dress/hat together, mount by itself). Then in 2008 the price zoomed up by about 5k and they were in packs. I didn't get to wear my favorite one (the black).

Or have the option to buy separately and have packs.

You don't give gifts for people (especially in RL) and then say: I gave you something, now pay me up... especially in Xmas

Mm 12 days of christmas sounds interesting, would be kewl having like, go by that song, whats it like, on the 1st day of christmas my true love gave to me? Then 1 thing? Prize could be thing. 2nd day, 2 things (or 2 winners), etc.

But Im sure -as I quoted above- that they already have the events planned. And as for Find-the-GM, theyve been doing those quite often (Trick or treat bags, guitars..). Of which Im really glad. I can actually do those well, tho I hate how they are sometimes before 4 pm my time (my family plays this game, and some of them work, so they dont get out til 4 30 pm or so), tho I could also argue its good earlier because less people looking.. eh.

But yeah, Im sure they already have them planned out. Im sure they are already working on promo codes or w/e for items, and theyre already preparing all the outfits.

D: In fact, I should do more surveys and stuff and get more sparkcash, cus that means all those outfits are coming back out!!! Ahhh must get a vday pack!!!! D:<!!!!
