My laptop keeps turning off

Every time i go on, after 10-20 mins my laptop just turns off. Im have Windows XP and about 46gb of free space. I am only using that- there are no other windows open or downloads happening and my laptop isnt even a year old.
Anyone know what's wrong?

Overheat!
Please check that the laptop is on a table, not in bed or on a cover. Don't cover the air-flow holes and don't put it on "Silence Mode" (when the rpm of the cooler drops to preserve battery power). If that doesn't work, reinstall video drivers, or format :D

i agree with the previous post
most likely an overheating issue

make sure laptop is on a solid surface
you can also purchase a laptop cooling surface that attaches to bottom of your laptop... usually about 20-30 bucks (US, east coast)


you can also turn your graphics settings down lower... that will help take a little strain off your graphics card potentially reducing heat... though not much
