Wil there ever be a patch for vista users to combat the black screen of death before the game goes open?????

It's not a Vista problem. Its a graphics card (Video Driver) problem. You need to update or repair your driver. Sometimes old drivers give out, and need repaired, or replaced. If it isn't in need of repairs or replacement, then update it, it should fix your black screen issue. If not then I'll need to know your entire computer specs (System Information). Once I have the info, I'll create the same problem you are having, and attempt to fix it, once I have it fixed, I'll reply with the fix, and the exact info on what caused it.

Unofrtunately as of now laptops are not supported, for that fact that video cards for most laptops wil not allow the game to run. The issue is with your laptop. Please play our games with a desktop within the system requirements.

Just try updating your directX

I don't have the game so this is just a guessing game for me

so that's why i cant play sos bec im a laptop user.. grrr... i really want to play this thing.. my wish on christmas to play sos..

Many laptops do not have video cards. In order for Solstice to run correctly it need a seperate video card not a intergrated graphics.

Try playing it on a desktop that meets the system requirements.
