Sorry if i'm being stupid

I'm playing on my laptop and am unable to use any of my shortcut keys because F12 already has a use on the laptop and it won't bring up my shortcut bar when i press it. I'm not very good with computers and don't know how to get the F12 key to stop doing it's function on the laptop. How do i do it?

This may sound just as stupid, but you'll want to be sure you don't have the Function key depressed when you hit F12.

More useful suggestions would be likely to come in if you would be so kind as to clarify what exactly your laptop does when you press F12. You may also wish to include information like what operating system you're using and the make/model of your laptop.

Ok thanks. Laptop is a DELL Studio 1555 running vista and the key doesn't actually seem to do anything to me(like i said, not very good with computers) but it has a picture of a FF arrow on it

it looks like your f12 key is for media player.. the best advice i can give is to not have media player open while you play sos or at least until you set up your hotkey o___________O

have you tried opening ur task window "ctrl+alt+del" and look for the function of the key? I remember i had this windows where "Alt Q" meant closing the window you had opened.. and yea i got tired of hiting it by accident or when i opened quest window in sos and having it closed so i found the it in the task function and removed it everytime i played.
