View Full Version : having trouble choosing a class...-_-;

ok so here is the deal, normally in other games I would play as a rogue/theif type char (dont worry I've been lurking around the forums for a bit and I have no doubt that they will never put that in, only exception possibly being ninja...but thats another thing...-_-; ).
so I've been doing some investigating in game and in the forums and now I'm stuck between fighter and archer...
I like the fighters close combat but I'm not too big a fan of how most of their moves are debuffs and that their starter move (slice and dice) is pretty much the heaviest hitting move for a while...
and I like the archers dot's, precision based attacks, and their strategic use of them. but as archers they do very little close combat, and when I play as one I often take down most enemies before they get to me (kinda makes me feel a little too powerful)...
sorry for the long post just a little more...
I'm just looking for suggestions, so I dont want to see any 'fighters/archers are better'...atleast not without any reasons that would make me want to choose either while taking into consideration the above.
and with that out of the way...what do you think?

Personally if you wanna kill a monster before it reaches you id go with mage, as archers are highly nerfed... as for fighters with an axe you will do more dmg then most mages assuming your 1 on 1ing a monster...

Mages all The Way. Ok? They Pawn at High Levels. Cast Fear (Run Around Randomnly) Highest Damage. Bundled With Ext's, Crit Suits, +9'd Wep = Almost Unstoppable. Even without Sparkcash Items You Will Pawn. Hope it Helps

Sorry but I'm not so into mages...doesnt really suit my personality...and as for the suggestion on axes...I should have mentioned that I would prefer 1h due to its shortness, lightweight, and faster attack rate...
also I should throw in that I'm also not into clerics either...
would it help if i throw in my prefered stat build? ( I'm using it on both my test chars, it seems to work once I get it going)

Much better :3
Anyways, to answer the OP question, it depends on what you want to do.
If you want to nuke the monster, kill it before it gets to you, and spend a lot of SC, go mage :D
If you want to never miss, always dodge, be very swifty, and be the best solo leveler, go archer.
If you want to tank everything, and still have a good damage, but not be the best against mages, go fighter.
If you want to save a LOT of money, level slowly, and need to be partied all the time, go cleric. [[My reccomendation, because this requires the LEAST sc, and the MOST socialization! :D]]
As for builds, there are pretty much two builds for every class, but some have more.
Mainly, there is "DD/Solo", and "Tank/duo//party"
Mages
DD/Solo: Pure INT/25 SPR, rest INT
Duo/party: Pure DEX/50 DEX, rest INT
Fighters
DD/Solo: Pure STR/25 SPR rest STR
Tank/Party: Pure END/Pure DEX/50 DEX, rest END [[I <3 DEXY fighters.]]
Clerics
DD/Solo: Pure STR/25 SP, rest STR [[Don't.... DON'T do this.]]
Tank/Party: Pure END.
Cleric-specific build for DUO: 1:1 STR: DEX
Archers
DD/Solo: Pure STR/25 SPR, rest STR [[Optional: add 50 DEX to make it very verisitile! :D]]
Tank/Party: Pure DEX/50 DEX, rest STR [[Again, add 25 SPR for crits and versitility! :D]]
Again, these are just basic outlines of builds, please refer to a build adviser in a class-specific area of these amazing forums, and have a nice time playing Fiesta! :D

If it helps, fighters tend to be better for PvP than archers in my experience and observations, and archers are a brilliant solo class.

if u r new to this game, i'd strongly recommend u to play a fighter first. coz it's the easiest class to play. take time to learn more about the game while playing as a fighter.
later, if u find that fighter doesn't suit u...choose another class to play :D

I don't think you'll feel overpowered after a while of leveling on your archer. I personally played one for a bit but I only felt powerful when I had a +9. I like fighters alot better because I'm used to close combat, because my main is a cleric, and I like tanking.
Imo, if you like kiting/running around w/ mobs behind you, and don't mind that you're hp and defense will be very low, go for an archer; because the idea is to kill the mob before it gets to you. If you like having more hp and defense, and don't want to bother with the kiting, go for fighter.

I think I will just do archer, I will miss up-close-and-personal combat, but archer seems to work best for now...
and besides whenever I play as an archer, I seem to get more rare drops...I do love the idea of treasure hunting...(this is compared to when I play as a fighter)
