okay, Ive thought of this for a while now.. Why does Clerics wear 2 meters thick armors and tanking fighters is running around whit thin leather armors XD It makes no sence ;P

I know it looks cool, but still, wierd ;O

--They do get thicker armours higher level--

I don't think fighters have leather armor after like lvl 20... Whereas I think clerics are using wooden armor (At least that's how I interpreted "Splint Armor"

I say it's metallic cloth, metal that has been enchanted to be very flexible, and interwoven into the material. Fighters need to be able to move when they fight off an enemy, and they can't be held back with stiff armor...?

This is the reason why Axe users are so squishy xD

Just take a look at archers.
They get leather armour up through level 70ish, but they get a plate/leather combo from 80 on x)

You think fighters got it bad. :P

And I think that she's talking about Through level 60 fighters, because look at the swing set.

level 8 armour is... BAD.
Level 20 armour is.... Leather.
Level 30 armour is.... a little bit of steel-looking stuff....... And leather.
Level 40 is.... black. And leather.
Level 50 is leather that's been died blue?
Level 60 is brown. Leather.
Level 70 is leather with metal put onto it in athstetically pleasing ways?
Level 80 is barely covering your body with metal and leather.
Level 90 is the only real metal armour.[[Almost]]
Level 100 is [Gladiators] Shoulder pads?!?
Level 100 is [Knights][Kick set] Truly plate armour. :P

So yeah, 85% of all the Fighters armour's are leather.
I think that's what shes trying to get at here.

Isn't the 4x armor called mithril armor? which is a metal?

http://www.fiestafan.com/wiki/index.php?title=Armors_(Fighter)

Starting 3x, they aren't wearing "leather".
I would think "Scale" amror is like, dragon scales? Which is a step up from leather. Then onto mithril, like I said earlier, is a metal. No idea what brigadine is, but it also looks metalish. Then they hit the PLATE armors.

I still say it's metallic cloth...

Besides, if you look at the archer armor, it has a hint of a metallic look:

Well all I'm trying to say is: There are only 2 armours for the fighter that do not seem to contain any leather.

The level 90 armour, and the level 100 knight armour/kick set.

leather = flexibility. could you imagine walking around in a tin can? Wait... Look at clerics... They walk around in tin cans and suck as far as dmg output goes..

Hah.

But anyways, I'll post a picture of level 40 armour, and you tell ME if it looks like metal ;D

EDIT: [[Sorry if It's big]]

Leather much?!

Well I'm gonna stick with, the leather areas being for flexibility (which is why ranged.rogue classes generally wear cloth/leather). When fighters attack the do a fair amount of jumps and spins in the process. I couldn't imagine that being easy in full plate.

i've never really thought about what my armor is made out of...as far as i'm concerned, it looks cooler every time you get new stuff, and it has higher defense

Amazing - a computer with internet access right in front of someone with no skills to look something up. Wooden shield probably- wooden armor, not bloody likely..
Splint is metal, as is chain mail- as to leather armor - it's not all that thin.
check with anybody that played AD&D-

Wow. Flamed because I didn't feel it was important to look up "splint" when I know that a "splint" is also peaices of wood/sticks/etc bound together to hold a broken/fractured/etc bone in place until a proper cast can be used. So pardon me for taking MY knowledge and using it the wrong way..

o.O I never really thought about it at all 'til now. All the armor I've seen fighters wear so far do look mostly leather-ish. Never really noticed the metal parts for the 4X-6X armors.

Clerics get tin can armors because whoever made their armor are fans of Andy Warhol and his many Campbell Soup. Idk, just a thought that came to me a while back. xD Don't kill me if you find this statement offensive. Dx

Well... Through PMs I had someone point out to me that quit a bit of armor (Actualy the ones that Fiesta armor is named after) are a leather/metal mix. Also, go watch "A Knight's Tale" and soo how much a full plate suit restricts your movement. As I've been saying, metal/leather mix > plate suit.

Since clerics don't have the best dmg they could jump on the mobs and use the armor as a weapon *O*

Fighters wears leather armour as a sign that they're "man" enough to take damage while cleric exposed to too much light are rather soft so they don in tin can suits

I think that since Fighters are versatile weapon holders they need to have flexible armor as well but cuz of that them not having a shield makes em kinda squishy. While the Clerics are solid forces of wall and can't be taken down easily so thats why they have "tin cans"

What's funny though is the fact that the armor being leather or a blend of leather and metal isn't really reflected stat-wise. The mobility part is, since their armor has higher evasion that cleric armor, but it also has more defense, despite the fact that it's made of less durable material than cleric armor and usually leaves a large part of the body exposed.

The nub armors look nasty. I've seen a level 100 fighter and was not sure if Gladiator or the other one(mmm forgot name) and wow so revealing. xD He had muscles and his man bobos showing. I would like to see fighters just be tin cans and not show that. =.= Oh well.

It's because when you hit them, they make a ninja pirouette.

But that would be an evasion moves/archer

Dragonfly77
11-30-2009, 08:02 PM
No no. Archers dodge it completely. Fighters lack that grace, so they only half-dodge.
