first MMORPG I can remember will be FlyFF

I played that for 2 weeks, then quit... and then like ayear later I really started playing...

GunZ Online (international open beta) was my first game I really played online, and longer than 1 month (most games I bought or downloaded I played for 2-4 weeks and then quit)

Third or fourth, but this is first one where I participate personally myself. The game is decent, graphics and stuff above Grandia 1, more party-friendly but lacks serious healing beyond juice.

The aggro system is intresting as you may never know when something wants to beat you or not, along with following into red zones just to kill you in later maps. :3

i think the red safe zones are a good idea but yeah every now and then ill run from a monster who follows me in there and still kills me ==;

ive been MMORPGing for a good few years, about 4 i think, started with *shivers* Runescape then my next major game was Ragnarok Online. Ive played a host of other games including Maple Story and Endless Online, Heck even Ragnarok Online 2
Ive also played many minor ORPG's and even run one myself (cept its down for the moment while we remake it).

You kinda forgot some options in the poll like:

-yes but I still didn't like it

-no and the game sucks

-I hate MMOs and this one just confirmed it

-Probably the last thing I'll ever play

Etc.

Not that the game sucks btw (well, the patching fails on me so I can’t really tell) but still it would be nice to see the possible opinions in here and not just the flowers/praises.

My First was Runescape.

I've played about 30 more since then including Big games like Guild Wars and small ones like Maple Story(my stay in MS was very, very short)

this is not my first mmorpg too.. i've played mmorpgs since the MMORPG craze started in the Philippines.. the very first MMORPG here was RO.. I've played almost every new MMORPG since then.. some i played for a while and some i played for quite a while..

MapleStory
Ragnarok Online
Flyff
World Of Warcraft

And a couple of others. Its been so long I don't even remember the names any more... Did MS on and off, switched through various rate servers on RO, got bored of Flyff after like a week, and played WoW on a trial account(it was addicting, but I'm not willing to p2p :D ).

this would be my third MMORPG played (Ragnarok Online being my first and MapleStory being my second)...last time I played RO was a year ago (couldn't pay for subscriptions anymore) and for MapleStory, I only played that because my friend played with me, but I quit playing it after ten minutes (I couldn't stand the side scrolling and 2-d graphics >.<)...

...found this game browsing the internet (yea I found it through an ad; there seems to be a LOT of ads showing Secret of the Solstice)...

wow you guys i didnt imagine that this post would last so long! I love reading everyones experiances with MMOs

Heres an experiance i had this morning. Me and a few buddys thought we would go explore the mines outside of Essene (BIG MISTAKE) its insanley hard in there. We did ok since i healed everyone very well but then everything started to lag. The next thing i knew everyone was dead, i had 1 hp, and the weridest monster i had ever scene was so in my face!

it was just a funny story i thought id share! anyone got anything better than that? (probably lol)

My first would also be Runescape. Granted, it wasn't much of a great experience once its community started to fall to merchants and the members.

I'm hoping that SoS would open the blind eye I have for MMORPGS.

My first was runescape. Biggest waste of my life, hurt my eyes, my health, everything. I only learned how to be patient when doing repetative things, which helped me later in life but that's it.

I love SoS. xD Well, not love exactly, but it's really good, it keeps me occupied, doesn't seem to be cutting into my schedule too much...and doesn't have that impulse to get on. That impulse for things like Runescape was annoying.

And it's easy enough to be pleasant but hard enough to not be too easy...and lucky balls really make it better...also enemy varience, like the way some huge poyopoyos attack you and bring poyopoyo friends when others don't, which poses a risk and challenge that I like.

I could sit here all day and talk about it, lol.

Not my first, by a longshot. I think my first was Dragonrealms when it was FREE for AOL users. LOL That ws fun... got too hard to lvl up in the end tho so I walked away. Played a few more... Horizons was cool. Actually hated leaving that game.... then, recently, Eudemons Online... well, you can tell how that ended up because here I am!

RAGNAROK ONLINE! weee death to all those pink blobs! lol played that for a while, that was my first. I got bored after 2 years, then i tried Maplestory, Silk road, Flyff, another game that looks like Flyff (i think its called Rose Online) >.<, and then i found World of Warcraft ^^ was fun for a while, i played that for almost 2 years too.. I quit that in september07 haha

Found Hellgate, playing that now, I like the online(play with other ppl)/offline(play by yourself) options, first man/or full fighting view, its the type of game a person wont have to depend on alot of ppl to kill a certain thing; and of course the graphics. But it has a major flaw, not many stages to play in, but still alot of fun killing everything hehe

i would say my first one would be... the day Ragnarok online came out. after that i have been playing games all over the place. ive lost count. and im really looking forward to S.o.S since it reminds me of the first day i killed that poring with my knife....*tear*

lol i know what you mean, how they pop, its awesome killing those happy pink blobs (omg the pink, i totally hate it, especially the pink ones with ribbons lol) and the furry bunnies

I'll put the games in order from 1 to most recent, that I've played so far.

Arcanum, Diablo I, Diablo II, Warcraft I, Warcraft II, Warcraft III, Warcraft III Frozen Throne, Dungeons & Dragons, Runescape, Ashen Empires, EverQuest I, EverQuest II, Lineage I, Lineage II, Ferentus, Ragnarok Online, RoseOnline, Gunz, Maple Story, Gunbound, Dark Age of Camelot, Age of Conan, Lord of the Rings Online, Ferentus, Final Fantasy Online, World of Warcraft, and now I'm about to play SoS, as soon as I can. There are more games I've played, alot more than I can remember. I can't remember any of the other games titles right now. Most of these games I've played in Betas, as well as full game. There is also a few I've played on consols, that were MMORPG, but I didn't like them as much as PC MMORPGs.

I think I've said this before on other threads - I call myself a Hardcore Gamer, I've played just about every game ever made. I've even made my own game before, but it didn't turn out as great as I'd like it to, and it was called Sanctus Legacy. It didn't get popular at all either. I haven't made another game since then. If I decide to do it again, I'll be sure to go to College to learn how to do it better.

you say you've played almost every game ever made, but that list is a very small amount of the MMORPGS out there.

Whiles theres probally under a hundered major games there are millions of minor games out there.

I've play many from Ms to WoW this is on my top ten though usually i start to play a game and quit it like 3 days after i actually stayed on this from the day i started till the end of CB so yeah... SoS ftw xP

i played runescape first. was on there for about a year. then got bored with that and tried out the rest of the world of games. this will be my sumwhere around 80th mmorpg.

out of all of them, only was was not free, and that was guild wars. too much lag for my lil PC so i droped that game fast...

A long time ago i played Diablo 2.

And for a long time, and i still play now, Runescape. My rsn is I Honey I.

And SoS in the closed beta, and when open comes il play that too =)

I played a lot of web browser based mmorpg's, ragnarok and guild wars, guild wars lost its appeal after i hit the lvl cap and completed the story, pvp was boring. SoS rules:D

RO was great, though the guild i was in just recently broke so im off it now.
im on and off maplestory (its not that bad for a free game >>)
and now SoS is alot like RO (does it use the same engine?) so im hooked :P

i'm a MMORPG ***** - always trying to find new and exciting ones, but that's my problem i never really stick to them. i usually get 40 - 60 levels, than stop because of the grind. i hope SoS will be a different story with me, even with grind. :3

omg!!! when I saw the trailer or this game it gave me a big shocked, nearly made me cry, coz it resembles Ragnarok Online... the memories... MMO's I played... hmm let's see now: I guess Ragnarok Online (pRO, Nox, EuphRO, and some other servers), then Runescape (which I think was a waste I dunno why I played it for a week), World of Warcraft (didn't play this much) and now this i'ma try this out it looks sooo interestin.

I started mmorpging back in 1999 when Graal Online was out. Now it's turned into this big fiasco, pay to play, but I remember how it was. I was actually a moderator for a while, known as Gomtuu.

Then, when Graal lost my interest, I found FFXI. Been playing that off and on since US release in '03. I'm reeeeally burnt out on XI, now, and needed a break, hence: SoS.

I've only played a few mmorpgs:

Diablo I, Heroes of Might & Magic II & III, First Star Online, Ultima Online, Starcraft (it's mmo so I include it), Unreal Tournament (again, just mmo) and now SoS.

I'm kind of a loner, but I'm trying to break that shell.

My first was Runescape, with these following in order: Ultima Online, Everquest, City of Heroes, Diablo 2, Maple Story, Flyff, World of Warcraft, EVE Online. Those are the memorable ones, all of those were/are great games. I would say I've tried a couple hundred lesser MMO's that didn't interest me.
