Lagging like a mofo [Archive]

I meet more than the system requirements, I have a Broadband speed of 1400kbs I even went as far as lower the textures and everything to "midium" as the programmers call it and I still lag like crazy. When my girlfriend and I play at her house it doesn't lag at all and she has a worse connection then I do and her computer isn't quite up to par with mine.

It's possible that some processes are consuming the resources.

One more thing:
Are you using Vista? Is she?

nah we both got windows xp home and as far as processes are concerned I keep all of them in check constantly to make sure nothing is taking up to much

yeah me and some buddys went to the mines and we were doing fine. then all of a sudden i started to lag really bad and the next thing i knew everyone was dead, i had like 2 hp and some crazy monster was in my face.

it was CRAZY!

Pleasse make sure that you have all your background processes turn off while playing Solstice.

they are turned off. the only the essential system processes are running.
