Ahaha... I'm here and watching silently, in a passive fashion... or was. That said, it's my time to share a few thoughts:

First, if you can't handle any class 1 on 1... odds of the tissue paper blaster surviving 1 stun, let alone anything else by a fighter with a 2-h weapon are null. You won't survive a cleric 1 on 1 either, war of attrition says we'll outheal and bash you into the ground. Want to go 1 on 1 with an archer? Sure, they'll hit you with DOT and chase you while you're waiting for it to wear off, as you have no buffs to A) resist it, B) have no natural resists, and C) no cure for it.

The only reason I feel that a 3 on 3 was mentioned was 3 fighters rushing the clustered group of mages, and hoping that they all AOE at the same time. In short, you're a mage. Stick to your long-range blasting and pulling, let the fighters tank and the healers heal.

Humm...I admit if the mage gets a drop on me he might win, but 3 on 3... say 3 mages versus 3 clerics, who have rejuv, invuln, and heal. we pop invul run at you you sit there spam spells invul wears off and smack you down and you try to run off.
Three mages vs three fighters, you all target one, drop him the other two catch up and due to yoru lack of defense we stun, 1 2 3 your out. than the one left standing tries to run off most likely spamming an aoe or two hopeing to kill us, nope we cut you off 1 2 3 your out. end of story.

Actually, Mages aren't the worst class in PvP. I've heard of some capable of holding their own against clerics. It's player skill that matters in these fights, though I think Mages have a more difficult time with it.

I personally enjoy my mage, but I wouldn't go to the extent of saying they outright defeat fighters. Or saying that they're the absolute best and the only way to go. In fact, they're a bit underpowered.

I mean, it's just stupid to say something like this. I got a fighter and he doesn't suck. He's not completely inferior to another at his level. What gives with these class fanboys?

PS. Don't mages get something to remove curses and illnesses?

They do which is why a archer is useless against them because that takes away all their dps, but a skilled mage vs a skilled cleric I'd vote on the cleric because he has skills if known how to use them in the right ways can get close enough to the mage and just smack him silly (I've done this plenty. and Im not pure end xD)

heh yes it is tedious but you also must understand during that rejuv isnt a long cd so you pop rejuv and when your health hits maybe have you can heal to cancel out maybe the next spells damage and rejuv will take care of the rest , than if the fight goes on long enough its a matter of who has the most sp pots :P

and yea.. I highely doubt 1 mage vs any class would not win >_> even 3 archers can drop 1 mage, you cant cure ALL the debuffs specially if casted by 3 seperate people. I think this person is well ignorant for his/her post and needs to get past level 20 before saying anything of the sort.

Ok guys, choosing the most basic, straightforward strategies out there and using them to prove the superiority of any class isn't going to do anything but **** a lot of people off. Mages are not limited to ganging up on one enemy, and Fighters are not limited to Stun 'n' Bash.

I believe that if you are having trouble playing a certain class, it is most likely because of two factors.


You're not doing something right.

I've felt many times that, when playing a specific class, the one I had chosen was inferior, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. However, I also met people of the same class who barely had any troubles at all. Later, I would realize that my apparent inferiority was caused by an error on my part, such as linear tactical thinking or poor judgment. Additionally, some classes may sacrifice one prolificiency for another. A class that is poor in PvP could excel in PvE, and vice versa. However, this may be because of a tip in the balance (see below). And of course, this is common, especially for beginners. It even tends to occur in experienced MMORPG players who take up a new game. Just remember, despite what other players say, you can bet on them having their own problems as well.


The balance between the classes is skewed.

The balance between character classes is like the economy: it fluctuates. One update may favor one specific class, while the next one could tip them all back into harmony. This occurs because no RPG game engine is perfect (obviously), and as the game itself grows more adjustments need to be made so that players can enjoy this harmony for as long as possible. If it feels like you've tried everything, but you still can't prosper as well as other classes, try waiting a while for an update. Who knows, you may get lucky and the balance may tip in your favor! (Just don't get too arrogant about it. ;) )


But yeah, saying one class is superior to another is not a very wise thing to do. Praising a class for how awesome it is one week and then complaining about the same class being "nerfed" the next doesn't look too good.

its the type of mage you go. at my level i hit 1300 hp with scroll tier 1. i also have 410 def and 913 m atk with cleric buffs. my build sets me up for pvp fights. i can tank fighters enough to out stone them but clerics well they are a diff story. if im able to time mana burn right then clerics are fked. and for archers well lol.... easy. but yea just depends on the skills and stuff of urself and the other player.

My main is a mage and i know it probably will all depend on luck but if it was three on three mages will win with teamwork the gang up on one at a time and use magic burst.

Intriguing subject. Personally I like mages. I have quite a few friends who are mages. I prefer Fighter Class myself because I like being close and personal with the enemy. (Less time to run away and more defense? Sign me up.)

Anyways, each class is great in their own way. I like all the classes and as a Fighter consider it my duty to try to protect them if I'm in party with them.

on my cleric i had a GW wif a mage he was together wif a cleric on his guild, generally i was hitting the mage first he was getting healed by the cleric and i was hitting him after awhile, he died then i went to the cleric it was easy, he was hitting me 14 and he was spamming pots, after awhile i told him not to waste pots, 1 on 1 Cleric can kill mage easy, besides that wasn't 1 on 1, so im assuming a fighter can kill a mage easy, considering the dmg difference, stun and spam skills, dead in a second.

YES, thank u. Man i ws really bored when i posted that. Yea mages r great, but other classes r good too. Im bias to mages because i've played as them for 7 years. In every mmorpg rpg i was the mage, so if i faught a fighter, id be a pretty fair fight, chance he would win the first few because of his high atck power and hp, but after like 3 fights i would find a weak point... and tear u down. But persoanlly i think a mage is a great party supporter. I love partyies and the flashy tech's we mages use. But yea i posted the first post to see how many ppl would respond to it, man it was asome. Yea i was bored than day, try posting a simmilar post on other class fourms.:D :D

Look newbs, the first coment was a joke, i put it ine here for a reason, i've said this a few times now. It all comes down to how u fight, mages are not the best and yes they r the strongest but, we have the lowest hp and def, so a mage is not the best class, it outperforms in some areas but not all, example i envy the power and hp of a warrior, but i'm glad that i have my range and power. That first coment was made to tick ppl off, and it did HEHE. Know i say, a mage will not always beat a warrior. I Agree with you Alektos, All the classes are weak in one area, and strong in another. and the fighter takes up for Def. and END the cleric is a Mp/up close class. The Mage deals out Magic Damage from long Range. While the archer dishes out phsyical damage (and effects) from long range. I have 1 of every class on Teva and I like all of them

First, this thread if a failure and waste of space.

Second, you are also wrong.

Class means little if strategy, intelligence and cunning are employed. A fighter can beat a mage, or a mage can beat a fighter. It can go either way depending on the changing situations in battle.

This topic is pointless, that guy only wanted to have fun at you fighters. As a main mage I apreciate very much good tanks and good clerics I know they are the only obstacle between me and shamefull death, keep the good work guys.

Note: I have also tried tank fighter and I know those DDs that keep pulling mobs are a pain!!
