What do you do with copper once it's mined? I know you can change the quality of it with crafting skills, but, what then?

It's used in stone production, I know that much. Often you have to upgrade the quality of the ores for it to be useful in making stones, though.

Wait a minute! You know that you need low quality copper ores for Lix[1] and mid quality for Xir [1]? Well because of that you can use them that way or sell em in a vendor in Rumen or somewhere. Composition and decomposition should only be used if you really need a different quality. Outherwise you spend lots of fame or money for the Alchemy Stones used there and if you don't intend to waste the money on this purpose (just to get some skill points in the composition skills) then don't do it! ;)

PS: Sometimes you can find someone who buys your copper for good money. For example 25c for LQ and 50c for MQ. ;)
