apples are farmable from "Wood" in Sand Beach/Forest of Tides... that's where i go anyway, maybe there's a better spot elsewhere?

tender meat from Animal Mobs in CP and higher.

monsters in MT also drop them ;) and I believe the item merchant in Uruga sells them as well

MT is moonlight tomb and CP is either collapsed prison or concealed prison i always get the 2 messed up

yeah find a cleric or a fighter and go to burning hill and kill baby bats for them, apples drop from wood, just look on the inner rim of the circle-ish middle area in FOM (forest of mist)
CP is collapsed prison and 4x~5x area MT is a 2x~3 area, i assume your on that quest "what to feed my family" from one of those npc's in FOM so your 1x, if your on epith i might help you get them, or give you them, i have 38 apples with me right now 0.o
