I don't know what you expect to gain out of this poll, unless you have nothing else to do. Having a Fiesta vs SoS poll on the SoS forum, votes will kind of be one-sided I think since most people here support SoS and are very excited for the Open Beta, coming soon to a theater near you!

I prefer SoS. Fiesta's neat and all but the camera angle is a bit hard to control, especially in in-battle panic, and the beginning was a bit hard to understand since there wasn't a definate basic NPC guide like guardian that I could always refer to if I got lost or discombobulated.

I'm glad Fiesta exists or i'd be bored right now, lol. xD Both are fun in their own ways, however similar, i like SoS more.

I haven't played SoS yet. Mainly because I'm not in the CBT, but...

I've got a few questions about it: what makes SoS special? From the screenshots, it looks like another Ragnarok copy, which there are about a good 10-20 available if you search hard enough. Fiesta was cool due to the funny cel shaded graphics and Kingdom Quests (although the Archer class was sort of redundant... a weaker mix between the Mage and Fighter. Guess who I was!).

Alas, I only played until they banned China's IPs, so right now I've been puttering around playing other MMORPGs. And I still prefer Fiesta for one major reason: community. No one's willing to talk in most other MMO's... it's boring when you can't crack jokes with strangers online.

But yeah... what's so fancy about SoS? The website doesn't say a lot, so it'll help if you alert me so that I can download it once OBT goes up :)


Oh, and ZAPDOS... only 1 win? I used to play N-A until they pulled out all those dumb missions. Spoiled the fun; was good, now unbalanced.

SoS, I like the fact that gives more exp while in party.
In Fiesta is hard to find a party even though you're a Cleric... and also is like you don't need it, the classes are very independant there with the equipments and some quests.

I like being in party so SoS is for me =3

ZAPDOS, I must apologise on behalf of everyone who's taken the sneering approach to look down on you, and thank you for the patience in keeping good humour throughout. Heavens knows we need more people with a cool temperament.

But back to topic: ... so it runs on a RO engine, RO players love it... eh? So how is it different from RO? I don't think plot counts because no one ever plays these games for plot (although Fiesta did have a fairly interesting way of getting you interested in your quests... long speeches, yes), and the controls are probably roughly the same, so..? Why not just play RO - aside from the fact that it now costs money?

Hm. Maybe Fiesta's cartoony approach is similar to something else, but I thought it was pretty unique :)

The girl is not Roll nor is in any way related. That’s Ciel from the Megaman Zero series (as are the other two chars), and she’s human, not a reploid. She’s a skilled scientist and the leader of the resistance group that wakes up Zero in the beginning of the series. She acts both as a motherly figure to the reploids (and to Zero in some extent) and also, to some point, as the love interest for Zero (as with every megaman game, just a few hints here and there).

I agree with avokatti, and technically a noob isn't a bad thing to be, for heaven's sake all of us have been noobs in everything, I’d say even noobs in life, most of us still are.

I downloaded SoS on Saturday and haven't played it yet because the system is down until OB starts. I also haven't played Fiesta. But according to my research on both SoS's and Fiesta's forums I realized that SoS is more worth it. I've done this research for the sole purpose of pondering to myself if I have to download Fiesta as well. Thus, I decided against it and I'm willing to wait for SoS to reopen.

The main areas are LITTERED with people offering services to players to powerlevel their characters for $50.00 - first off, I thought that was a violation of the user agreement and secondly, who is stupid enough to not only give a stranger access to your character but PAY them to do it, too?

As irritating as advertisement is, those players who spend time just shouting on the open chat "Die stupid plevers" are just as annoying.

I'm afraid once SoS goes OBT, there's not a lot you can do to stop advertisers. Except ban China. Again. Which would really make me unhappy.

Well, if the players are in direct violation of the terms of conditions, they can (and should) be banned. Unfortunatley, nothing stops them from simply creating new characters and doing it again.

I guess a smart way is to write a censor file that not only ###'s out swear words but any combination of words that may be used when spamming adverts. That is a double-edged sword, tho...

my whole reaction to Fiesta was "hey cool this is different" for all of a couple hours. i mean it seemed a little weird to start off already with the class. its more fun to work your way up to it i think. plus the textures looked a little weird to me. and SoS chars look so cute anyway =3 (in a manly sort of way for you guys of course ;>_>)

Fiesta's graphics make me think of IMVU and Sims.

The area is kind of confusing too. EX: You couldn't see where you were on the map unless you full viewed it. Then chatbox is filled with HTML like link codes...etc. o.e

1. This thread exists in an SoS forum. The fact this poll is not accurate can be noticed merely from those "I've only played SoS" posts alone. This was better off done on a neutral sub-forum;

2. Not many people can answer. Because SoS was a CBT. Meaning not everyone can test it out. Yet;

3. Every 'free' game gets flooded with such bots, advertising 24/7, until a gm short-circuits them. I suggest tracking repetitive replies (or just specific repeated key words) - to some extent, at least, like 20-90% of the message's content; anybody saying the same thing, even 10 times in 10 minutes, is either a bot, or a bot wannabe; and neither is tolerated by most of the society, so kicking/banning may just make a lot of souls happy;

4. Other than the concept of pink hair, I have an overall negative opinion on anything related to the word 'Naruto'. It's best I didn't pronounce myself on this matter;

5. Judging by what's been said on this thread only, I find it difficult to see why SoS is being favoured in the first place. At least over RO. What separates SoS from other RO clones? Or RO itself? Other than the cash shop, different monsters/npc quests/in-game currency, stuff like that; (please note, I haven't played SoS; I do not intend to defame it, but rather understand the unique points of this game, compared to others similar it; there's little information I can relate to, in order to find that out)

I prefer Solstice. The camera is a ton easier to control, it doesn't lag 24/7, The music is comforting...I guess I like everything but the grammar/spelling of Solstice.

I myself love the fact that I can get up close and personal, or to a farther away, scouting view, for whichever I feel like at the moment. Personally, I think the camera is easier to control, for the fact that I took to it right away. The only thing that keeps me from mastering it is the lag I get in some places. Otherwise, I'm pretty good at using it. Besides. I have fun when I can look through my head or take a screen shot from different angles. =P

I've tried SoS, for about a day or two I think. I think most of what I didn't like about it was the problems I had with it. My comp doesn't have what it needs for the graphics and what-not. If I wasn't in town, I was walking on blackness with bushes and trees. I also didn't like how the quest description were kind of vague...

From Fiesta, I love how you have to start at level one and work your way up. It kind of ruined it a bit when they make you level to level 10 before doing anything else and that they tell you what stat you have to build up to get past one of the quests to get to your level 10. Even if they know what they are talking about, I want to fail or succeed on my own. I want to choose myself where my stat points go, whether or not it is the 'right' one. I'd like to get myself to level 10, not have to go through tutorial quests, which could sometimes be a bit vague as well...

The characters? In all honesty, I almost despise how it seems like the SoS characters don't blend in with the rest of the game, and how they don't look...like characters, rather than moving statues. In Fiesta, the character actually fit with the rest of the game. They seem to blend in with the surroundings, not the kind where you can hardly see them, so I should rather put it as the Fiesta characters actually belong to the rest of the setting. In SoS they just look too artificial for me.

And as for plot? I didn't stick around long enough in SoS to see the plot for that, but I like the plot in Fiesta. It's great, not that they involve you in it all that much, unless you do the quests. I'm still waiting for the game in which your actions truly define what the game becomes, where you aren't limited to a set plot, but the plot is what you make of it. Where your actions really make a difference, where if you play it more than one time, you'll never, ever play the same game twice, unless you play it the same exact way. Where it's as if you are writing a story, and you get to choose what comes into existence yourself. But I know that's going to be real difficult to pull off.

To me, the interface seemed a bit counter productive, but I have to say that may be because I am not used to it all that much. In all honesty, I s'pose I can't really say which is better, because I didn't give SoS a long enough chance to see what it was really about.

I like the fact that you have to choose what class you want before you play in Fiesta. If you don't like your class, you make a new character. That's what must be done in SoS if you choose one you don't like, I assume. The reason I like Fiesta's way of dumping you right into your chosen class is that you get used to the way /your/ class plays right off. If you ever do get used to it, that is. This difference is especially noticed when you choose archer/mage over fighter/cleric. For archer and mage, you must learn to kite quickly. For fighter and cleric, you must learn how to effectively live in battle while taking damage. For clerics, that way is to heal yourself with your skills, and for a fighter that way is to bulk up in defenses or pot and stone.
Granted, I'd like them to incorporate branching classes into Fiesta. But that's for another forum.

All in all, they are both good games. In my /opinion/, Fiesta is better. But that's all it is. An opinion. I think Fiesta is the best out of the two. Granted I may have given Fiesta an unfair advantage, but it's an /opinion/. You can think that SoS is better, if you want to. I won't flame you or anything like that for it. I may argue that Fiesta is better, as I love to argue, for the sake of arguing, but I can't make you think my way. I truly believe that neither game is better in reality, but it's just personal taste and all that stuff that makes one or the other better.
