View Full Version : SoS Forum in desperate need of some moderators

Okay so yes I will probably get flamed for this but I'm sure I'm not alone in being completely frustrated at the repetition of topics and questions that have already been answered. I think the forums are in need of at least one or two moderators in addition to the GM's and CSR's, since there is only so much that they can do. No, I'm not asking to be a moderator I'm simply saying that there seems to be a big need of one or more to prune the threads and to keep people from flamming and spamming.

BTW, if there are moderators my bad but maybe they should add a couple more.

Am I alone in this belief?

EDIT: I Rest My Case. (http://www.outspark.com/forums/showthread.php?p=201834#post201834)

I'm with you all the way, the number of n00bs making posts to ask stupid things around is overwhelming.

There's only one way to really deal with it, and that's with either official announcements or simple answers that can posted. At least that's what I figured. You never know what new person just doesn't know where to look.

I do agree with you Daft. :/ The forums are in need of more moderators. Not to say that the current ones aren't doing their jobs, because I have seen old and repeated threads purged.

While we're on the subject of moderators, Has anyone else here not been able to send PMs to the board leaders (GMs, CSR, and Adminstrators alike)?

Agreed, but with the GM's and other mods and such working out the bugs and all on the game itself, I am quite sure they do not have time to screen people for moderation with the forum itself. I would just give it time. Once things settle down for them a bit I am sure things will be worked out here with threads and such. And us making new threads about the old threads just does not help the problem.

I'm quite sure the whole "bugs of the game thingie" is being taken care of by the development team for this game, not directly the gms that simply run the site and the in-game world

You mean forum mods and CSR and GMs do not double as programmers and debuggers?

Next you will tell me there is no Santa or Easter bunny.

I do not see any flaming. But maybe a bit of spamming. The community here is well kept and apart from all the "HELP I CANNOT LOG IN" threads. Everything seems to be running quite smoothly. I don't even think we have a banned member :)
But yes perhaps a Mod or two to delete all these rediculous "I cannot log in threads" would be nice.

Of course there is, I was lying before and now i am telling the truth.

Remember by process of elimination dishonesty is the second best policy and second best really is not all that bad.

I don't believe that we need more moderators... as much as we need players to figure out how this link right here (http://www.outspark.com/forums/search.php) works. Not using that link is the reason we have 2.4 million of the same post all over the place. A user taking 10 seconds to find something like-minded and contribute it will go much further than GMs wasting time they could be using to handle in-game issues such as harrassment and bots.

My .02,

While Xanthros is correct I still think we need a few more moderators. About 4 of them should do. Or even just 3.

You got a problem with me or anything? Seems to me everytime you can you try to troll me. But well so is life.

Now, just so you learn a few things before trying to argue, you should read these, copied from the outspark help center:

Where GMs and CSRs differ is how they provide assistance and where they handle the issues that players have. CSRs handle support issues via email and Private Messages received via the Forums doing a lot of investigative work directly dealing with other departments such as the Development Team, Quality Assurance Department and other sections of our staff in order to resolve technical or account issues. CSRs rarely handle game play issues which is why you will never see them hosting events, or giving items out because those are the responsibilities of a GM.

And to learn more, here

Now you know that, since outspark is a big, legal enterprise, they actually have different ppl who are GMs and part of the development team.

Actually I was agreeing with you when i posted that. Might not have been as clear to you the reader as it was to me when I posted it.

Some people seem to think that the same person who is an in game GM or board moderator is also a programmer, which as you and I know is not true. So no it was not a troll against you at all.
