ok man, first, when enhancing, only try once a day per item. used blessed stones when you can.
for lv17 sea of greed is your training grounds.
for a cleric production skills can be anything really, i have stones and scrolls. i like having the extra buff's, and the stones sell for good money. pots would be ok as well, since you wouldnt have to buy as many stones, and you can always sell your extra hp pots, even though they're not great money

well....they can be usefull...sorta...they allow you to build up/break down mats into higher tiers or lower tiers. but you need alchemy stones from Elderine. you can buy them or use fame to get them. but you'll just be selling the mats to other players for money....i donno how much you'll actually make.
if you start an alternate char put like stones and pots or scrolls on him. then you can always just put the mats in storage, swap chars, and make them. thats what i do with pots and material composition.

You can't change your production skills.

however, u could create new characters to have the production skills. and there's the storage for inter-character trading, so it really works. just make sure they're on the same server

Decomposition is actually very good money. I was messing around on my Decomp alt, trying to get fame for some stones, and I came to Forest of Mist. Someone on the bridge was buying Torn Leather for 10c each. Whenever I picked up a crude leather, I broke it down into 11 Torn Leathers.
Crude leather sells at 50c.
Eleven torn leathers at 10c each? 110c. 60 copper better off.
Even in they'd been offering only 5 copper, that's 5 copper profit, and you can easily find better prices if you're willing to put a little dedication into it.
Dusts too, can fetch high prices. Dim gem dust breaks down into twenty-two old gem dusts, which can be sold for 4-5c each, 88-110c for a single dim dust.
Later in the game, it becomes impossible to get low level materials, but low level materials are still vital for manufacturing. When this happens, having a well-trained Decomp skill is a godsend, people will be asking you for materials, and you'll be running your three alts producing scrolls, pots and stones, and selling them all, running your megalomaniacal financial empire with an iron fist.
As for enhancing.... If you find a +7 weapon, that's great! If you find a +1 weapon, that's great! If you buy an enhanced weapon, that's great!
If you find an Elrue?
Sell it. Enhancing will cost you silvers upon silvers if you try it, and the damage, whilst nice, is not in any sense mandatory, especially for a cleric.
