hey guys i used to play this game 2 years back and there were soooo many people playing this game but when i recently entered the world again its like empty in essene/eir/jhon
so where are the people? i can only see a bug of high lvls in brynhild and thats it? any idea on this one i really want to know what happened to so many players because the game is boring with other people at your lv playing because i either see a lv 30 player and the next is lv 100 so whats the point
if its because of the o+ errors they really gotta do something and even advertise to get the game back because it is a n awsem game

It's due to lack of updates and the type of people joining the game. Many people have been getting plvled and/or are leeching up to 100+. With all these new attk increase items ingame and def boosting items, you find these lvl 10x-11x up in the highest lvl maps AoEing and taking at least four to five minutes to kill. These maps are meant for lvl 13x+ people to train on. So since there are so many people AoEing the higest lvl maps, there is no room for high lvl ppl to train. We ask and ask for new maps, but with lack of updates, nothing is released except for the holiday items, ie Christmas, Valentines, St. Patricks, etc. So with no new maps, and no where to train, high lvls start to quit. Then their friends quit because there's no one to play with.
Also, with the new Marian server, many people have gone over there, and new players go over there too. So Adeline is slowly, but surely, dying out.
Awhile back last year, a major glitch hit, where a small group of players were able to get limitless amounts of money ingame. They bought out all the shops set up, seeing how everyone priced the items at 999,999,999. All this new money was added into the economy and sky rocketed the prices. If you remember, the Xen Stone was under 1 mill before this happened. After people started realizing what was going on, the price on them jumped up to 10 mill per Xen Stone. After months past by, the prices reduced again, and we are settled at 3 mill per. With all this extra money in circulation, the money has become virtually worthless, so Xen Stones are used as trading items instead.
This was before Marian server was released, and due to this, many ppl quit, or went over to Marian to get a new start.
Soooooooooooooooooooooooo, that's why there is a lot less ppl. :3

off topic: they increased ult lvl kit again from 10k+ to 14K+ <--- another reason to just stop playing with the crap exp you get even with boosts on the last map its not worth the money

Is it quiet based on observations pointed solely at the townsites, or are the highest maps also empty as well?
I'd wager that so many people have been powerlevelled/leeched/grinding long enough to only be stuck at those maps for some time...
Just a guess.

Okey guys, i know that outspark and dnc or whatever are working hard to bring us a ton of great and new content that they'd promise like pets, maps, channels (well channels no, but its a great idea) and the only thing that we need to do its to buy a lot of uselful sc items [/sarcasm]
Ok seriously, idk what are outspark and dnc doing with this game particulary, but i think are doing it very wrong, the company needs to attract new ppl and keep the ppl that already r playing the game... now they r losing players for free and no matters how shiny and useless "new" content they offers... it's very late to give whatever they want...
I was away of this game a few weeks, and the only thing that i can say about it its that i miss 1 friend... no more, i remember my joy when id received an email with the promises of new pet mounts in feb, i dont have the game installed already but i know, without talk with anybody of my old "friends", that the new content isnt here... I think i only download the game, not for play, and better ill dont talk about "buy" sc items xD i'll only download the game to use it as a heavy and slow instant messenger

ROFL, 3 mil huh? Maybe thats 500k inactive players and thier 6 alt accounts. All i can say is, if they do have 3 mil, maybe they'll notice the 2,999,999 people who dont buy stuff in the sc shop due to the greed this company has become.

I'd be surprised if Sos has had 3 million players since the beginning. The game is alot less busy. Population increases during exp weekends, holidays events, POX, and when new content arrives.

Im New, Started to play 3 week of january 2010, lvl 78 knight (Marian)
so new people is Joining
I Joined Marian becouse it was less crowded when I Started to play.
Here are my few Cents of reazons why SOS is Dying.
3 players i knew quited with the lost of Pets, they felt Outspark didnt have any resposability to the game users and would not give them back their pets.
which cost them Alot of real Dollars used to make and Upgrade.
Even that there is History of all items bought to upgrade the pets. Outspark was not interested even on replacing the bough SC items used on Pets which disapeared.
After this Problem i saw the amout of players reduced substatially.
GM Events are getting OLD and boring. I have been playing about 2 month and i havent seen an event different from what i saw first week i played (Except todays Chase the Lep).
Drop Rates: Many Item Drop Rates are insanely low, specially low level items.
Yes this helps the economy, but it reduces the amount of people that can afford the Items.
Old Experienced players will become rich and have all the items at their disposal
New player will have nothing and everything becomes so out of reach that they quit.
Example Pet Quest, YWM? why are they so rare? Low level Pet should be something a new player should afford with less effort,(People need pet to use the pet food anyways) No pet no purshase of Food.
and even level 35 Pet, with out pets people doesnt spend on Upgrading pets
and so on.
MAPS is something known by all, they are not enough even for low amount of players.
I have to visit 3 or 4 maps before i find a place where i cant train.
GOOD PART about low amount of players is that Prices have droped considerarly
When i started to play Fighter Items i saw being sold cost 20~40Mill, now i have bough my AP6 items
for under 10mill.
but in average i bought for 4mill.
(for a new player like me, its all i can pay, cuz after buying my equips im at 1mill left).
If prices had been as when i started playing i could not have afforded them, and probably quited
becouse i could not AOE anywhere.
In Short this is what i belive about SOS, game is good to Try, Game marketing/economy/players satisfaction management really sux for SOS.
Marketing doesnt see where they can get money.
Game economy affects number of players of SOS
Looks like Outspark doesnt have an idea how to satisfy their players.

Content is probably the biggest issue with this game. There are simply not enough maps for higher level players. Nothing has been released that wows me since the mounts. The dimension dungeon is cool but it does not wow me. I would rather work my way up to fight one EPIC monster at the end that give unique and awesome loot AND experience.
The economy is another issue. If you do not read the forums, you are probably going to get taken advantage of at some point in the game. If you want to be able to afford enhanced gears, you generally need to spend a sizeable amount of time doing the insanely long pet quest. If you do not get enhanced gears, you are generally going to get chewed up and spit out by level 40 (where most people who play this game quit). The 4 hours of logged-in server time required for the pet quest is just stupid. The pet quest drop rates should probably increase 25-50%. Also, the enhancing an advanced pet part is not good because it is random. A player cannot level up their pet or gain new skills. You are stuck with a random pet or a random mount with a random skill. This is good for economic type players who have a lot of sparkcash but bad for everyone else. Basically, in order to afford gears and such I have to spend a large chunk of my time farming various items. This is more like work and less like playing. Aoeing is the same issue.
There are also major issues with class balance. Outspark has gotten a little better, but there are still major deficiencies. For example, Mages have the lowest defense of any attack based character. When this game started, they had the highest attack damage. In comparison, the Archer gears have a higher defense than Mages but they can hit harder and faster than Mages while using less mana. The only advantage a Mage has is the number of AOE skills (which are pretty cool). So, in order to be a mage, you have the odds stacked against you from the beginning. It is the hardest class to play in this game. If you contrast that against the type of people that want to play this game, many new people choose apprentices to start out the game (the whole magic is cool manga readers and such). The non-spark cash apprentices rarely make it past level 30 before quitting (OS loses potential future SC spenders).
The sparkcash shop is kind of lame. There are only 5-10 items worth buying based on stats. Costumes are useless to most players over level 40. Sparkcash items should be available by level and be equivalent to ap 6 +5 items with extra statistics, or the sparkcash costumes should add a bonus like +50 mp or something that STACKS on top of wearer's current stats.
I think another part of the decrease in population is the language barrier. There is a sizeable amount of ESL or no-English speaking people playing this game. Not to sound xenophobic or anything, but a lot of people just are not interested in bridging the language gap.
There is also a major lack of quests, etc. I would also like to see more loot and such. There needs to be more enhancement options of weapons and armor. Houses need to serve some sort of function. More storage is needed in hotel or in house. Guilds need to be able to be leveled and use guild skills. PVP needs to be balanced and have actual game function like a PVP point shop or something (like being able to buy a guild skill). Player marriages need to be conducted by NPC with a buff. Fiascos like the tiger claw need to be avoided. Desert and ice maps need to have hard hitters reduced in a lot of maps. East Eir and any new maps need to have at least one hard hitter. Experience system needs to be revisited to eliminate leeching and needs to be supplemented with quests (especially for levels 60-65 and 96+). Classes need to be better defined and balanced.
The improvements needed seem to be too vast for DNC to handle. It literally has taken more than a year to get basic spelling and grammar corrected on some quests (see the rdb lvl 31 quest 'FFFF07' thing). Sometimes I wonder why I stay but then I remember my friends and the fun had at events, etc. It is like a baseball team that drafts a pitcher that can throw 110 MPH. The pitcher can't hit the broad side of a barn, but there is so much potential. The team works with him and is patient with him, but he just does not produce. Ocassionally, he strikes out the side; but then he messes up the next inning. He then blames the team for not doing their part despite how much money the team has invested in him.
I can go on and on but my break is over.

Oh but wait, Fiesta is Outspark's main game, it's more popular on the many MMORPG review sites that I've been reading lately, and of course, many more players play it.
Let's just ignore Solstice and move on ^.~ After all, the newest game that's soon coming, Erebus, is being compared to Diablo in a prominent review :3 Can't be bad, with the way they express it...
And according to the statistics of Outspark; "Registered"; how about stating the unique accounts, the active accounts, etc etc. But hey, we all love grinding, no? >>;;
PS: Overpowered Cash Shop items are a must-sell for the enormous % of our current community who is paying for SC, but it's not favourable to anyone else, especially casual gamers. Personally, I, and a majority of my friends who don't AND do pay for SC, think that the +def weapons are overboard. How about first checking the actual combat/character statistics system before overloading the Cash Shop with super-powered items?
Oh but wait. It's the real money, vs the virtual items....
