Introduction

The Xen Department of Records, Documents, and Statistics ("XDRDS") are in a bit of a bind (no pun intended). Due to a recent communication error, many texts have been taken to the Museidon Library. The XDRDS employees are far too timid to go get the texts back, so they need help filling in these missing records. Not wanting to suffer the wrath of Adeline (and definitely not Marian), the XDRDS need to replace some of these documents...only temporarily...of course. Help the XDRDS by recreating the the famous haiku that Adeline and Marian's parents wrote to the daughters on their 18th birthday.


Objective

Help the XDRDS by recreating the the famous haiku that Adeline and Marian's parents wrote to the daughters on their 18th birthday. Your mission is to write two haiku, one that reflects Adeline and one that reflects Marian.


Notes

Here are some things to keep in mind about the sisters:

There seems to be some favoritism with Adeline, while Marian always seems to be placed on the back burner.

Drekard, a famous war hero, is smitten with Adeline. Marian is the love of the evil Alastor's life.

These poems are aimed at 18 year old would-be rulers, so keep that in mind.

A haiku is generally a non-rhyming poem which contains 5 syllables in the first line, 7 syllables in the second, and 5 syllables in the last line.

You can use a search engine to find syllable counters if you are having trouble.


Examples:


Happy Birthday girls:

Solstice Sphere to Adeline,

we love you so much.


Marian, bad seed

the other daughter we have -

for you, ice water.


Prize

There will be first, second, and third place winners. All three winners will receive a Forum MVP badge and a super nifty, super secret prize pack.


Deadline

All entries must be received by Friday, March 26, 2010 10:00AM PST
You can enter as many times as you like, but each entry must have 2 poems.
