Full Dex Fighter

So I've heard something about Full Dex Fighters and have encountered Stefan_Sloan in FBZ; so I've proposed a question to myself. Do I want to become a full dex fighter?

Dex is great for both AIM and evasion and to cover up the loss of defense all you need are +9 armors, right? But I've heard people say that FULL dex is a horrible build choice for a fighter, but from what I've experienced it sounds great. I mean I'm a 45 Dex/55 STR fighter, but my aim is about 800 with an axe. I tried attacking a 95 full dex fighter and would only hit him about 1/10th of the time. I mean, come on, even with the 1h or 2h I'd miss horribly.

So although I'm sure this thread has been posted. Would the dex be worth it for my fighter? :D

While its true that average builds vary between servers, that doesn't mean that the build itself is necessarily without merits regardless of the build's environment.

TITLE had a thread about being full dex ages ago, before Dex really started working well. He hit 90 before switching servers and finally quitting.

It's a reasonably strong build that doesn't necessarily require +9s any more or less than any other build (okay...it probably fits right on the scale between full Str and full End). The primary difference is that you're basing your survivability on luck; you'll hit more, reducing fight times (especially against bosses), and be hit less, reducing your stone count, but when you're hit, you're hit for the same damage as a full Str build, and when you hit, you're hitting with the same damage as a full End build.

You'll just be slightly faster than an End build because you'll rarely miss on appropriate mobs, and have a higher damage output.

But, at the end of the day, its just a matter of how you play. On Teva, though, its my understanding that many mages and fighters have added Dex for the PvP strength that 50 Dex adds.

The boost after DEX+50 just lowers, which is why most stop after that, and focus on others stats, such as str which don't have a percentage to stop at. Even with that, i do have a 25 SPR rest DEX fighter and he's quite amusing.

Dex doesn't do much fer dodging since you avoid like 1/10000 hits with 500 Evasion.

Well the way I've seen it, Dex is the real only thing that keeps me from dying considering that my mDef isn't even 600. Didn't think mdef would make a difference for a solo class until I got to higher levels and realized that PvP is fun and magic monsters hit me or a grip of damage.
So if there is ANY thing on a hybrid build for SPR/DEX?
The one thing I don't like about SPR though is that 1 stat point adds 1 mdef point. But I believe 5 stats on SPR add 1% Critical hit chance. Right?
Either way, Dex is something I'd really like to experiment with, but I'm just wondering if its worth the restat.

Not to mention Dex is really the most beneficial considering it adds a Percantage increase to Dex rather than just points, and it also adds on to AIM.

Well, If you want an opinion from a Person that actually uses the Full Dex build.
It's Really good for Solo Mobbing (if you have a Evasion buff it'll help even more)
It's Why alot of People saw me hogging the BMM room in ToS ._.
For PvP to PvE, it helps you survive some skill spam sessions with a miss here and there (except against HGs and BKRs. That's if the user's aim isn't fail with them o-o)
Sure Your Damage output can suffer a bit and defense might be lower.
This can be corrected with STR and END in Gear
Through and Through The build can be very powerful when paired up with some nice end/dex/spr gear.
Although, this can get very expensive :P
And not a lot of people would like to have this build

Well from what I've seen it looks like it would be great help considering all I really do is solo and sometimes duo once in a while. Like you said though it may pose a threat to defense and damage, but as stated it can be fixed with gear. Someone also got me to consider a tanking hybrid build - DEX/END. Which at first sounded ridiculous but now doesn't seem SO bad. Some more defense and HP would be great considering I'm constantly told that my fighter has extremely low HP for his level, but he's also got extremely low magical defense.

So Magic Damage is what you would consider my achilies heel. I know my fighter isn't the best but he's gotten me this far, and I plan on hitting 95 before summer begins.

((Off the top of my head since I'm at school. Possibly wrong))

Damage: 5.9K on Vit
Defense: 1212
AIM: 796
Evasion: 750
MDef: 576

So the thing is that I'm lacking various things apparently. I wouldn't say I have the WORST defense, but as for my AIM and Evasion - its generally about 200 more than people around my level who use a 1 handed weapon. My Damage output isn't amazing but it's decent. My mdef is crap and my health is about 3444 HP.

This is why I considered making the hybrid DEX/END build but then I wouldn't appreaciate the fact that my DEX wouldn't appreaciate the idea of me losing DEX points. I also considered:

25 SPR - just for the extra mdef and 5% crit
xx END - For HP and SOME defense
xx DEX - Because this is the main build I've wanted.

I've come to see though, that if I did that I'd really suffer what I primarily wanted - which is my DEX build. Of course if I did that - I would stop with END at some point and then dump everything else on DEX.

Of course though END/DEX/SPR gear is almost impossible to find, and when found it goes for about 5g more than everything else that's +9. Just trying to see if anyone has a good suggestion >.<

So SPR is a no. I guess thats true considering I got my permanent Sensei suit.

Pure dex is almost like pure str/int
sc require to stay alive.

It's almost like fighting a cleric, he will probably not be able to deal enough to kill you, nor will you be able to kill him unless you get a lot of lucky hits/crits XD but that goes both ways.

They are gonna un-nerf the HG's, I guess you heard about it. Aim of HG's will get back to what it was before. What does it mean ? No more ''Miss'' for HG users. So, In PvP, your ''full DEX'' build will be a waste of points. Of course, you'll still need some DEX to bring your Aim high enough to hit those HG users, and not ''Miss'' them, but not a full DEX build. At 105, you have 135 free stat points to give away. It would be too much to give it all to DEX, I'm pretty sure about it.

So, in my opinion, full DEX build = stupid, since HG will be un-nerfed in a month or so. :3

And maybe what wasn't clear is the fact that DEX won't be needed anymore for Eva, but mostly for Aim. Which means that you can balance your lack of Aim with a T4/T5 scroll, and there chuuu gooo~

So yeah, the build I'd suggest is 50DEX rest STR, or 25SPR 50DEX rest STR.;D

Nerd Glasses: +3% Crit
Angel Helm: +8% Crit
Twin Swords: 7% Crit
Vday Suit: 10% Crit
Guitar: 5% Crit
Teva Skin: 5% Crit
Total: 37%

IG:
Axe 7+5% Crit
Purple Boots: 5%
Lvl 95 Purp Earring: 2%
Total:19% Crit

37+19=56%

thats 56% with earrings ;/ look I used so much less sc stuff than you + I had 5+5% on wep only since it was a lv 85 one, with a hg Im sure breaking 70% with all the sc stuff you used haha example: I had 5% crit rate suit, and 5% guitar stuff, so add that extra 7 to mines, I break 60 with only those.

And don't take everything GM's say for granted rofl. Remember GM's saying Hellgaits wouldn't be nerfed at all? Then what happened? Oh yea...they got nerfed. But meh. Not everyone can get a HG, so yea. Dex will still be useful, unless the aim on BKR's is also upped, but at lower levels Dex still pwns.

Un-nerfing hgs will mean, among other things, a) loss of balance in terms of dex/aim b) makes it easier for people to level. Pretty sure OS doesn't want either of these. However spreading rumours hgs will be un-nerfed, that makes people play/farm helga more, something they do want...
