Cons and Pros of both?

I personaly think hammer and mace do the same amount of damage over time. So just find a hammer or mace that has the best stats on it, or pick one that you think looks cooler.

I believe the hammer is good if you have +25 SPR. That adds +5% critical rate and with the hammer it adds even more.

As a clank, I find that the mace, as opposed to the hammer, is the only way to go. At lower level areas, where clanking is actually the most difficult, the faster, weaker strikes of the mace generate more aggro than the slower, stronger hits of the hammer. I literally watched as a hammer using guildmate, who had trouble holding aggro from her lower level mage-buddy, borrowed my mace and suddenly started holding aggro.

My own personal theory as to damage is that the two weapons are inherently unequal to begin with, however, the mace benefits from outside sources than the hammer does, closing the gap.

To explain, take the level 50 weapons.
Per minute -
Mace: 54 hits. 142~197
169 avg damage per hit. 9126 notional damage per minute.
Hammer: 46 hits. 263~329
266 avg damage per hit. 12236 notional damage per minute.

On paper, the hammer is obviously better. But by just having protect cast at this level gives a lone cleric +70 damage, which bumps it to 239 and 336 damage respectively, and this makes the notional average 12906 and 15406. If the cleric has 200 strength (Not an unrealistic amount to have), that's now mace, 439; hammer, 536 average damage per hit.
Average now? 23706 damage per minute for the mace, 24656 for the hammer.
By the time you add an extra 42 damage from a full party, it's 25974 to 26588. A difference of 614 statistical damage over a minute, hardly noticable, and even less so when you bring in critical hits, strength bonus damage, special moves.... In fact, if you start accounting for miss chance as well, the mace can really start to shine, since you're more likely to hit with Bash as well.

Fiesta is a game of adds, the different mastery levels also add damage, and every addition of damage to the base damage statistic narrows the gap even further. Attack speed is one of the most powerful features of any weapon, the hammer needs to be better to make up for that.

actually its a matter of prefrence. you can use an aim scroll and be fine with a hammer. or wear dex rings. they're basically the same. having everything for both is a waste of money. pick the one you like better and run with it.

I'll just use whatever I'll get. It's already hard enough finding a shop (or a drop) that gives you a weapon you could use. XD

Hammers have a high crital rate and more damage.
Maces have better aim so it will miss less often then the hammer and it attacks faster by i think 0.1 second or 1 second.

Most people pick hammer since they look cool and they had been using a mace for the first 20 level so they want to switch it. I would suggest you us a hammer up to lvl 39 and at level 40 you switch to a mace.
