I signed up for some free sparkcash and it didnt work. so i contacted them using the feature and got credited 580 sparkcash but the advert for it said 3000 somethingn cash. Now the sparkcash offers wont load so i can know how much it was exactly and contact them with teh proof. Is there something I dont know about going on here like you can only get so much per day or whatever?

The free sparkcash offers are full of scams. They literally try to get your personal information so that they can send you junk mail, sign you up for some ringtone service that will somehow get applied to your phone bill, or give you a "free trial" of something that is very difficult to cancel and you will eventually see a charge on your credit card for it. The fact that some of them pay less spark cash than advertised is far from surprising.
When you try for free spark cash, you should only ever give fake information. Sometimes the program is smart an will know if an address is real or not, so you can't just completely make it up. In that case give them the address/phone number for the local pizza place or a neighbor you don't like. Make sure that you have an alternate e-mail address for this purpose so that you normal email doesn't get flooded with spam. Go into each offer expecting to get nothing out of it. Often the survey will say that you do not qualify, which really just means they want your information but don't want to pay you any SC for your time. If you manage to get a few hundred SC out of it then you're not doing half bad.

/off topic ---> Hilarous siggy XD
/on topic ---> the Free Offer sux. Most are just junk, and they'r not free :P "pay 10$ a month and get this super cool ringtone!" ---> no you didnt get your SC..?

Like 75-90% of the "free" offers say you need to sign up put real info and wait for verification to get your sc. Even when it's in the "free" section they want your credit card stuff so really why not just buy a sc card or just charge your own credit card whatever on the OS page here instead of giving out your info to an ad vert.

Apparently, OS uses the word "Free" to attract people to do their surveys. "Free" means that you can get the SC without doing anything. Getting SC for filling up surveys or giving personal info is definitely not "free". They should rename it to "TELL ME WHERE U LIVE AND I GIV U SC HUR HUR HUR".
nyannyan9
03-26-2010, 11:37 AM
That's right juicy. The "free spark cash" is largely useless. I much prefer to just buy what I need straight from outspark. Not to mention that the "free" sc is not giftable. :(
The only time I use this is if I am about 100 SC away from something I want, I might try to sqeeze a bit out of one of the offers by tossing them some fake info. But to actually try to save up several thousand SC through these offers to buy some apparel would simply not be worth the time nor frustration.

Oh yeah, they are scams Slashy. They aren't just innocent surveys. This is why if you insist on doing them, fake information only is the key.

Use the real address and phone number of some resturant or pizza place. Their software knows if an address is fake or not, but there is no way for it to tell if you're giving it your address or not. Just enter in any actual address and you'll be gold.

The only offers on there that are any good are the paid offers. If there is a product or service that you had intended to buy anyway, and that company happens to have a deal with OS, why not get the spark cash.
I know you are just trying to do your job, CSR_Circe, but we all know that the kinds of websites that are come up from these "free" offers are out to trick people. The users on here have no interest in the surveys or offers, but only want the spark cash. The people hosting the offer have no interest in a legitimate survey either, and only want your personal information so that they can abuse it, either by flooding your email/home address with spam, or by applying deceptive charges to the user's credit card / mobile phone account that the user didn't want. If had a clear idea of these charges up front then they would have either not bothered at, or just bought SC directly from OS.
So what you end up with is a war of deception. The opposite side tries to every way possible to milk money out of the user (normally accomplished with fine print), and the user tries every way possible to milk the spark cash out of the offer provider without giving them what they want. The one thing that neither side actually cares about is the "survey."
It's easy for OS to just say "Make sure you understand the terms and conditions." The problem is that the terms and conditions are not clear. There could be anything written in some amount of fine print on any number of the dozens of pages you sometimes have to navigate through. These are highly deceptive websites that nobody would ever touch with a 10 foot poll if not for that spark cash carrot being thrown out there.
The only way for users to have a chance of answering the survey questions to get the spark cash while simultaneously protecting their bank and e-mail accounts is to not give their honest personal information. I would truly hope that Outspark is more loyal to their players than to these shark sites. Should any serious problem occur I would hope that OS would take down that section of the site before banning players.

It is not in the best interests of Outspark to put something in place that defrauds our players. We make the Offers available because there are a good many Outspark players who would otherwise be unable to obtain Cash Shop items. It is also not in our best interest to allow Offers to remain if our players are not being credited. We work closely with the various Offer providers to screen and remove Offers that are unsuitable, irrelevant and/or don't pay our players.
That being said, it is up to the players to let us know if they are not receiving the SparkCash. We refer them to the Offer partner's customer service path first. If they do not receive a response within a reasonable time, we want to know about it. We often receive emails from the Offer partners asking us to manually credit a player's account, and we do so; I know this to be true because I do them personally.
If however we don't hear from players when they don't receive their SparkCash, or don't hear back from the offer partner we have no way of knowing that there is a problem. And if we don't know its a problem, we can't fix it.

Nyan,
I understand where you are coming from, as users are often warned to be wary of what information they give out online. Its personal protection, and I respect that. However, the offers that they have put in place here are an attempt to make SC available to those who would not otherwise have access to it. Outspark does its best to screen these offers to determine whether or not they're suitable for this audience, and that they're legitimate.
Should a site fail to reward SC to the user for completing the offer on a repetitive basis, Outspark will remove them. Its to no advantage to Outspark to work with that vendor if it doesn't benefit you the customer.
Now, this is my own personal belief, but I'm sure Outspark would encourage you to do this as well. Read the details on the offer before you follow through with it. Its just like reading the Terms of Service here before you register an account. Its important to understand how the information gathered will be used, what permissions you give these sites and what you are agreeing to. If a user does not agree to those terms, they are encouraged not to complete the offer.

Eh I make a decent amount of spark cash off the offers all the time, just gotta know how to do them properly :) Just do the Free Category, don't do any of the credit card ones if you obviously don't want a credit card or want to be charged, basically just read what you're getting yourself into first before doing them.
I.e.: The one's that usually work are the ones ranging anywhere from like say 300 spark cash to 3k spark cash, any offers for a huge amount of spark cash all at once usually require you in some way to pay them.

The survey companies have actually been getting wind of people pulling falsified information on their surveys in order to not be harassed. They majority of them now try to make you enter your real cell phone number so that you have to send them a confirmation PIN to prove that you entered your real cellphone number, which is where they start tacking on charges.

THEY ARE 100% SCAMS. I completed an offer for an energy drink, paid the shipping got the item delivered to my house. NO SC. I sent in a ticket 5 days later no responce so I sent another ticket, another week went by still no SC. So I sent another ticket, 1 month later still no sc. So I cancelled EVERY single offer I completed and will never do these scams again. so to everyone else out there, dont listen to them, it is all a scam and just another way for them to make money. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME DOING ANY OF THESE SCAMS.
Oh ya I got to tell you all about another one I did. I have a car and hence buy auto insurance. So there was an offer for a free quote. So I filled out the info with my name address blah blah blah. 10 minutes after I get a call from a woman saying she is with the said company, so i was like cool there on it. Any how after 30 min of asking me questions about heart disease, diabetes, and what year my home was built in (I asked her what any of this had to do with car insurance, her responce was that "its just a survay we do") 5 minutes after I hung up with her I had 30 to 40 people call my house asking me to buy health, life, home, boat(I dont own one) and every other insure there was on the planet. the phone still rings to this day with people asking me to buy insurance. Wanna know the best part? I NEVER GOT THE 4,500 SC I WAS SUPPOSED TO GET FOR DOING THIS OFFER.

I agree. Two problems are:
1) These are scams that are being officially sponsored by Outspark. Not only are there sometimes scams in that the SC is not received, but also in the fact that they try to abuse your personal information.
2) The link that the CSR posted on the previous page says that Outspark can ban you for giving false personal information to the shark sites. This leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, especially when it is a known fact that these are fraudulent websites.

Does anybody think it would be a good idea to create a thread on which offers currently work and which ones don't? For example, the one who made the thread would read other's posts w/ links and update the first post to show which ones worked for whom and such. And then a CSR or a GM or whoever can look it over ever once in a while and check those that seem to be giving people problems? Just a suggestion, since that way we all can help each other, and warn others in case when OS haven't done to fix the broken ones.
edit: btw so far I've had 1 successful one recently. I downloaded it, installed it, and don't think my comp got any viruses. It was only 290 sc though o:

That one is probably legit because they want you to play their game.
USUALLY though when they want you to download something it's either some sort of trojan, phishing software or spyware.
