View Full Version : Ice Bolt vs Ice Blast ???

Is it just me...But I noticed that with Ice Bolt you have it all nice and set, whatever points you put into it but when you get Ice Blast and use it it acts as if you have used Ice Bolt as well. This wouldn't be a huge problem if you got the skill points you put into Bolt get put into blast, but you don't. Yet with Fire Bolt/Ball and Lightning Bolt/Blast it doesn't do this. Does anyone else have this problem or does anyone know why this happens? I think it's a bit messed up and if necessary I will report it as a glitch. I think if they are going to do that it should be an upgrade in the Bolt skill and you not loose the skill points you put into it and loose the spell pretty much alotgether...

they have joined cool time thats just how it is

its not that much of a problem rlly ice blast doesnt rlly need any points anyway

Yeah but why do they have joined cool down time? That's one of the things I've been trying to find out since none of the other elemental attacks have it. It wouldn't be a big deal if the cool down time for Blast was the same as bolt, but you don't get the cool down time unless you put the skill points into it...

They most likely did that to avoid allowing a mage to have another class/monster with lowered moving speed all the time

also none of the other elemental spells have a status and i think its better they avoided having a status that usefull being stacked,especially because you get a third ice spell at lv 60....and a fourth at 100

I cant say for sure why its that way but its not all that bad

I think accention covered it the best. It would be rather imbalanced for us to have have 2 single target skills that have the chance of slowing especially since ice blast's slow effect is a greater slow than ice bolt. As for the points that skill doesn't require any. They are better spent in stronger attacks like magic blast, fire ball and aoes.

there re many skill points guides around this forum, but the reason about this acting like the same cd for both, might because both skills slow the target (most of times) and having two skills doing this debuff, can be kinda unfair..anyway u dont gonna need ice bolt in late game.

idk................. i found ice bolt a bit usless on my other mage, i mainly just spamed magic blast o-o

Besides, If Outspark were to fix anything, I believe it should be the class Archers, There are currently at the WEAKEST, class in Fiesta in late game. They are at the BOTTOM of the freakin FOOD CHAIN!!!

I have both an archer and a mage, I do just fine with my archer. Unless she's not to the point of bugged skills...

I can understand the not being able to do the slow thing twice, however Archer have multiple poison/illness abilities so in some way that, at least to me, isn't much of a reason. Especially considering one of the abilities is the same, both on a shot and on an AOE...

It's really not comparable to archer skills o.O. There is no Archer skill that works the same as Ice bolt and blast. We don't have a 'Poison Shot' and then 'Poison *insert random word for stronger version*'. The mages, to my knowledge, can still AoE (nova) and use Ice bolt / blast, much like an Archer using Nature's Mist (aoe) and Poison Shot though.

Just my two cents.

Offtopic: the bugged skills / nerfs technically start around 95 where the blues remove almost every advantage archers had, in addition to the new AoE bugging archers so they can't move, jump, use skills etc. (it also has a long cool time, fail dmg for the SP it uses, and the DoT it gives is lower) e.o
