i was just wondering if i should try full dex for my mage. Do you think it might help me or is it a waste of time to go all DEX?

All dex after mid-20s won't really help you from what I've tested, and read no matter the class. The NPCs will be faster, and although the aim and evasion will help a bit, it won't be significant enough for you to take the penalty to damage that you'd get if you went with more int.
