I don't get it.


I seriously don't, and once again, I am not bearing any ill will towards the signature, nor am I religious, but I seriously don't understand it.

Jesus existed - a man, a prophet and a scholar. His teachings were simple: love yourself, love others and don't go around screwing things up for everyone else. It wasnt until later the church decided, by vote, to make him the Son of God, a super hero, and twist his teachings from "love each other" to "do as I say or you'll bur forever in the pits of hell!!!" - it was hard work but through nothing less than miraculous determination and some swift 3rd century thinking they managed to pull it off.

God exists as an ideal by many names, faces, etc. but no one can for certain say there is an ultimate high-powered supermoderator out there watching us. Personally, if I were God I'd have wiped my hands clean of this failed experiment we call mankind a long time ago so who knows?

Heaven and Hell? I work for the United States Government. Is that hell enough for you?

Now, whether or not you beelive in God or SuperJesus is entirely up to you and I respect that. However, you, too, should remain respectful of other peoples' beliefs evern if they don't synch up with your own. That's part of being a mature, caring individual and spreading good rather than ill.

Besides, think about it this way: No matter which side you're on, you're probably right, but what if you're wrong?

Anyway, all joking aside, please try to be respectful here. Religion, like politics, is a tricky and personal subject that can get way out of hand in a very short amount of time. Although open debate and joking is healthy, just try to respect one another's views and don't try to go out of your way to antagonize, yes?

While you’re basically right with everything you said, I think you probably took everything a bit too seriously. Actually this whole tread had nothing to do with religion, except for the fact that raptor jesus is some kind of internet parody of jesus, but even then it’s more of a joke related to the internets and the *chan boards than something that’s making fun of jesus or the catholic religion. Sure, believers may find it disrespectful, but aside of that it’s nothing to be taken seriously. Even then, this topic was more of ppl throwing *chan jokes around than an actual attempt at flaming religions or icons or whatever. Of course, the topic quickly became more and more off topic which is why we need active mods who simply close this kind of things before they get out of control.

Btw, I’m in no way criticizing the whole tread, as I was part of those who kept it going, I’m merely stating the facts. As I already said, we weren’t making fun of jesus or any religion at all, just joking around.
