Low level mages in PvP?

I'm just curious if other people have this kind of problem... I have a lvl 36 mage and I normally go into the lvl 20 abyss. The problem is I get killed a lot by fighters that are like lvl28. -.-

Am I just terrible with mages, or are they generally this bad in PvP?

I have no problem with monsters. I find that I can kill them easier with my mage than my fighter.

mages aint made for pvp at low level even at lv56, when 2 full +9 mage,fighter fight with lv50 blue +9 weps fighter wins, fighter have spam,and mage does damage twice as slow as fighters.
When mages advance into enchanter they gain around 600matk to catch up to fighters so thats why they seemed alot stronger at high levels
If your not full +9, then you just get owned by DD with +9 axe unless your dex mage or max fire bolt which can 1 hit any newbie fighters.....

Generally, Mages aren't great in PvP until they get Fear. Try to hold out until then. Also, What's your SPR? If it's lower then 25, You might want to consider raising it.

sooo, I got my mage to lvl 60 a while ago, and I still fail at PvP when against a fighter. everytime I use chain cast then fear the cd starts for fear... it works for nova though. :\

fighters are my only problem, I can kill archers and clerics. :D

@kisamier, I don't have any spr yet, I've been using sc gears to make up for that but I plan to add spr soon.

Make sure you're not accidentally hitting fear twice.
