Sorry, I am still a bit new to this, but how exactly do I start a kingdom quest? I have one, I just do not know where to go (it says the slime kingdom). So is there a place I have to go? Or is there something I am supposed to wait for?

Every odd hour (1, 3, 9, 11) or even if you are in a different time zone, the kingdom quests start.
So when that time rolls around, click the hourglass icon near the mini map near the upper-right hand corner of the screen.
Also, it helps if you are nowhere near others, to reduce lag, etc. (search the forums for kq entering tactics, just not with these keywords)
Wait for the status of the KQ you are trying to join (slime has 7 sessions, if I'm not mistaken) to say "recruiting", and click participate to join that KQ session, or run, or raid, or whatever you want to call it.
Lag can reduce your chances of getting in, as there are only 15 spots per session, so really do search the forums for entering tactics if you don't want to lose sanity over it. (most people here are getting fed up answering the same question over and over, I am just warning you now, search is your friend)

You can NOT do a KQ any time you feel like it. They are on timers.
1.)Click the bottom Icon on the mini-map. ( looks like an hourglass). This opens the KQ list.
2.) See the times next to each KQ? when the first time matches the time on the clock underneath the list. It will start "recruiting". Then and ONLY then can you join a KQ.Click "Participate" to join. Be fast. there are 15 slots and 100's of people after them.
*TIPS*
Find a quiet zone. When the KQ you want into has 2 minutes before it starts recruiting, Log out to character select. Wait 1 minute and then log back in.This clears the response time of clicking participate and it actually registering you did so.( This is called "latency lag")
You will now have a much better chance of actually getting in.Although it is not guaranteed you will get in at all.
