Dear Developers,
the new launcher's interface design looks nice but it has it's flaws.
First of all I want to mention, that I'm running Secret of the Solstice on my netbook which is a HP Compaq Mini 311c. It has an Intel Atom 1,6GHz, 2GB RAM and nvidia ION graphics running Windows 7. The Solstice client runs fine on it with only a few lags when many players are nearby.
The only issue is I need to close the "Apollo.exe" (the launcher) through task manager every time after I start Solstice because it takes 10% - 40% of my CPU load constantly and I can't play Solstice smoothly while it's running. I don't understand why the launcher keeps running in background even after I started a game.
If there's a way to get the old launcher for Solstice back, please tell me! It was so small and efficient, never kept running in background and didn't take up much CPU load.
Building in an option to automatically close the new launcher after starting a game would really help.
Or is there a way to put the account name and password directly into the SosClient.exe via command line without the need of the launcher?
(e.g. "C:\Program Files\Outspark\Solstice\SosClient.exe" -acc:name -pw:123)
Honestly, a launcher should only start the game without keeping itself running in background all the time taking up CPU usage and RAM space in my opinion. I think it's inefficient the way it is right now, especially for people who have systems with low specs.
