5 of any stat= +1 bonus stat?

I've seen this hinted through out the forums but I dont completely understand it. If you get 5 free stat points of a particular stat such as END , INT, SPR, STR, or DEX etc do you then get a bonus stat for it?

I was thinking of making a 25 spr mage but wanted to know how to make it. Would I put 21 points into spr to get 25 total (assuming 5 points= 1 bonus point). Or do I have to put 25 points into spr to hit a total of 25 spr points (meaning no extra bonus point is given if you put 5 points into one stat)

It only applies to STR and INT.

You'll never get stat points that way. What happens with INT & STR is that they add +1.2 damage per stat point so when you have 4 u get +4.8 = +4 (real effect) and when you have 5, you get +6 = +6 (real), since you can't do 0.8 damage to a mob.This is what people hint in forums.
