I'm a level 2 and I don't know how to become a level 3
also do you advance by points like the experience points and stuff

You get experience points by killing monsters.

Basically three ways to gain levels:
1.Kill mobs (slow)
2.Do quests (average)
3.Successfully participate in kingdom quest (fast)

Edit: Well since this is Cleric subforum I should add:
4.Get a party and let party members kill the mobs while you heal them.
