I can get the chat bar there, but I cant make it go away so I can use hotkeys and such again. How do I turn it off?

To open it: press enter
send a message: type in chat window, press enter.
Close chat window: press enter again
Tip:
Open options (the "esc" key), go to game settings. on far right at the bottom, uncheck "Command Prompt". click apply.
Now your chat window will auto-close after every message.
