New Player...and lag question

Hi guys,

I'm new to Windslayer, just started today, well I tried this game probably a couple of months ago to see how it was, now I'm back to actually play and stay. I'm from the UK (England) and going for the Thief Class, I like the bombing-style of Trappers.

I had one question...Before I started I read if you put your DirectDraw on 16bit it will reduce lag, I did this and I don't lag anyone in the game so far (PVP Arena, training maps) but when I step into the town map - Popola I think its called, I get this weird lag.

I'm guessing if theres any other towns in the game, I'll probably lag in them too. I've tried the Popola town map on different servers even if theres 1 person or no one, I lag in town but everywhere else in the game seems to be fine and I'll hope I'll remain to not lag at all outside of towns as long as I can grind smoothly.

You should work with the lowest graphic setting the 16-bit if you really want the most performance from WS.

K thanks, and I really do think that the system requirements for this game are slightly incorrect, well I do use the DirectDraw 16-Bit, but it doesn't do much.

After some exploring in the game with my mentor today, before I logged off..I found out that I lag on every town map and Mining/gathering map. so in Mining village etc i also lag.

I think ignoring the difficulty of doing mining/gathering with the lag, and walking through towns I should be able to progress in the game as long as training maps don't lag at all.

Hey dude... if u are using a laptop you must let it breath because it overheats when you close or cover the place where this tipe of ventilateur is. I also lagged and i didnt understand why but 1 month later someone said me that maybe my problem was of doesnt lettting breath my laptop and from then on i have no problems lagging

That' has nothing to do with hardware =_=
That's a common sense issue with overheating


Anyway this could be something with your ISP/Internet wiring.
Also close all un-needed programs since it'll take up memory usage and if those are websites, it will drag your internet.

off topic for this thread but just yahoo how to record videos on computer...

also laptops over heat because the fans in them dont cool them down well...(similar problems in ps1 before ps2 came out) try playing in the coldest/coolest room in your house and or play with a fan on by it. that should keep it from heating up as fast but still it will need a break every 4-5 hours at least.
