As I said in-game:
Any guildmaster is responsible for whoever is given access to the guild vault. If someone untrustworthy has the ability to withdraw items from the guild vault and chooses to take a valuable item, it is the guildmaster's fault for having given them the ability to do so in the first place.
Furthermore, you should never, EVER, leave items that valuable in your guild vault, even if you think you can trust your guildmates.
At this point, I'm sure the panda has passed through many hands and is probably in the possession of a player you wouldn't expect and who probably isn't even aware that it was stolen. Or it could even be with a trusted guild member who isn't speaking up and is feigning outrage on her behalf to throw suspicion off themselves.
Yes, it sucks that her def panda was stolen, but that was bound to happen when everyone from the guildmaster to the lowly newcomer has free reign to take items from the guild vault. Even if the GMs/CSRs look through the game logs to see who took the panda, it is very likely that she will not get it back.

Well something was stolen in the game, and theres such thing as GMs, for something that much to be taken away from somebody and nothing not done about it o.o its terrible, i played Phantasy Star Universe Ambitions of illuminus for a coupe of years, and one thing thy dont tolrate is theft, so they make them give it back or instant Ban!! so to come on to this game and see or hear nothing done about it means that theres no standards, just like the person who let th ethief into your guild... has no standards, and Malia if yew had something stolen yew probs do the same =) and me? ide stick them on youtube o.o anyways i has thing to do byeees, -Take Notes-

The GM's can't do a lot about theft in this game because the way the game is set up theft should be impossible. The only way someone can get something in your inventory is if you 1) trade it to them, 2)are in a party with them and drop it on them, 3)drop it on the ground and leave it until it can be picked up. Since all of these cases require you to initiate them, what it boils down to in a dispute is that you gave the person the item. All the GM knows is that one person is claiming the other person stole the item. How are they to know if it was a sale, trade or loan? There have been a lot of claims of people "borrowing" pets, mounts, gear and never returning them and the GM's have repeatedly stated that if you give someone something, there is nothing that can be done.

I actually had problems with a guildie stealing from my guild vault a few months ago. Everyone who is in my guild also has free reign with the guild vault; the general rule with my guild is that if you're withdrawing a large amount/borrowing a rare item, you let the guildmasters know. Said individual was funneling assets out of my guild for personal use and not saying anything and the numbers weren't adding up. Fortunately, my guild is restricted as is, so there's few people in it, much less those who are active, meaning I was able to trace it to a single individual. I simply revoked their access, demanded back as many assets as said person could provide, then booted them. There was nothing else I could do; I was the one who added them in the first place.
You have to remember, Outspark isn't exactly a very big company to begin with, so comparing its game management to that of Phantasy Star Universe Ambitions of the Illuminus is extremely unfair. Yes, Outspark has many GMs, but only 3 are allocated to Solstice exclusively. The 3 of them alone have to manage the goings-on of both servers, not just Marian. And I would imagine that the game log for one day in the Marian server alone is rather huge, considering the many goings-on of all the active players on the server (Adeline's game log would be quite larger in content in comparison). Checking the game logs would take quite a while before they find the information you're looking for; and by that time, your thief would surely have disposed of the panda by then.
Ultimately though, if you don't care for the necessary time needed to do a proper investigation, the proper way to proceed is to send a ticket to the CSRs, as they're the ones who have to manage any in-game complaints of that nature. This also gives you a proper channel in which to check up on the progress of the complaint.
Although I would like to mention this: If your main goal of this investigation is to find the culprit and blacklist them, you should be aware that blacklisting is also against the Terms of Service.

Yeh i see BUT.. Yew ended up getting some of your things back and ended up with standards in your guild after it happened, your probs at an appropriate age to be able to sort things like that out for yourself =) theres kids who play this game and spend months / money to even get a lvl 3 mount o.o theres obv not just 3 GMs sorting the game... if theyre clever then they should be investigations into big claims as this around the clock, if they think its true then ha its not hard to produce the item again =p
Blacklist? didnt know yew could in this game =0 blacklist as in they talk and yew cant hear them? well erm.. yew shudda seen my B-List card from psu o.o it was 4 pages full =p i hate spammers, not that im comparing them both, to some people to them its like stealing candy from a baby, they dont care for there actions, they think they will get away with it, and because nothing happens about it people are having to resort to using yellow eggs to shout out who are not to trust =/ all because they are still out there and nothing has been DONE, good bye and good day Malia =)

underlaw, you don't seem to realize just how small a company Outspark is.
It's not like SEGA (the producer of PSU), who has many different offices across the globe. Outspark has one office, located in San Francisco. It has a set amount of staff that manages ALL their games (not just Solstice, but Fiesta, Project Powder, Wind Slayer, and their upcoming games as well). And yes, they do only have 3 GMs assigned to Solstice: Phibes, RoboPanda and Bondo. They can 'borrow' other GMs for events, but when it comes to conflict resolution in-game, they're the mediators.
Furthermore, Outspark doesn't even produce Secret of the Solstice; they just host it for the North American audience. It's DnC who produces Solstice and - guess what? THEY have the game logs. Outspark has to request the game logs from DnC, and THAT takes time, especially since DnC is based in Korea. San Fran and Korea aren't exactly next-door neighbors on the globe, you know.
So yes, while ideally it would be great for Outspark to be able to look into such happenings in a timely manner, it's just not feasible for a company of their size. You cannot overestimate what they can do just because SEGA can do it easily with their MMOs.

So Theres not enough staff to take care multiple games, just 1 office yew say o.o thats to much pressure if they only get 5 complaints a day + sorting of events and items, wich means theyre under staffed also they need to get back logs of processes between players, its just to much for them, i dont want yew to waste your time replying in this thread so ill just say this, they need more staff and instead of more servers built and more games made instead, they need to think about MORE staff and offices, if they can afford to make these games and have the servers running, im sure they can get more people, theres even info on here how to become part of the staff and requirements -.- i wonder how many people they accept a month, 1..2.. meh. People dont need anymore games they need staff!!! =p Adeline lvl 50 Acolyte -Take Notes-

i know what you mean people who spend all there money just to find its gone really if that was a GM who got the def panda stole off them they would just make a new item but when it comes to us nothing can be done about it because of no staff. like underlaw2000 said why bring more games out why not get more staff in. really my respect for this game has fallen =/ Adeline lvl 36 Mage INFERNO 2010

This is an unfortunate and frustrating situation. Sadly, there is really nothing to say here that hasn't already been said.
We do our absolute best to help players with issues of their property in-game, but that is generally restricted to problems caused by the game itself. You chose to put something in storage that other players had access to and someone removed it, which they are allowed to do based on how the storage was arranged. This was not a glitch or bug or error. It is not much different than allowing someone to "borrow" an item (and them refusing to return it.)
I don't think players can appreciate the incredible volume of accusations we hear in-game, via forum messaging and through CS where players insist that others have stolen from them. Frequently they have no evidence to support their claims and we cannot take things from players and give them to other players based on mere accusations.
Also: When people ask a GM to intervene in these situations, we explain that we cannot do that. We cannot and will not get involved in personal disputes between players. You need to submit a ticket to CS at http://support.outspark.com. Please do NOT spam GMs over and over with the same requests when they are in-game. It is very difficult to function, especially during events, when the same handful of people are shouting/whispering and PM'ing you all day about a problem you already told them to report to CS. CS has the tools to help you with these issues, GMs do not.
There is a policy in place that GMs do not get into whisper chats with players. So if you shout "GM whisper me, its important" or any variation of this theme, you will probably not get an answer. If your problem requires a secret conversation, you should submit a ticket to CS, because the GMs cannot help you.
I wish I had a better response for you, but this is a problem in all online games, free or otherwise, and the only way to be 100% safe is not to lend out items, put them in shared storage or share any private information or passwords.

Yes true, well one update yew should consider is, IF and WHEN somebody sticks an or many items in the guild storage they should have the option of... 1, Yew and only yew can take this item from the guild storage. 2, yew and the selected people can take this item from guild storage. 3, Everyone in the guild can take this item from guild storage.
It cant be hard to do something like that and i really do think and i BET everyone will and shall agree it would be so much beta, yew should consider it on the next few updates, it will cut your complaints by atleast 30% - 40% rough guess -.- oh and if taken.. it tells yew when and who =)

Lol what about just don't putting those kinds of items in your storage? I mean seriously THAT would resolve a lot of problems, and if the person who took it out sold it through in game money or through real life money you can't you take it away from that other person...

First of all, being a kid doesn't mean being dumb neither does it mean being a thief... An adult can make the same mistake... I think everyone should take care of their items, if you lend them out it's your fault if they eventually don't come back to you~. Oh and Domenex said only two people could enter the vault, so either one of the two people or Domenex himself, end of discussion... (Things don't just disappear).

Thievery - User's fault 99.9% of the time unless site or something gets hacked. Never give out your passwords. Never put something in guild storage that you don't mind being stolen.
Item disappearance - That does happen. It happened to me once. I submitted a ticket like you are supposed to do. CSR reviewed the game log and added it back to my account. Missing item magically appeared a week later after maitenance. Moral of the story: fill out a CSR ticket if something goes missing or there is a major problem. Forums are good for posting if you want an answer from a player that could help you or if you want to leave constructive feedback. Otherwise, don't waste your time typing.
