Chinese Players?

I've seen a lot of people around that, most people claim to be chinese.

Why are they even playing this game?
It's the USA/Canada/Mexico version...
Shouldn't they be on another version of the game?

It's very annoying to play with these people...
I end up in very bad situations where I can't even speak to them...

Also, they all have bad attitudes...
If I'm trying to make money in Ancient Elven Woods, they mob drop me to get me out of the way >_>

I don't understand how you play an English game without speaking English either...

Shouldn't something be done?
If we can't communicate with someone using the game's language, isn't that a PROBLEM? >.<

hey there is nothing wrong with chinese playing the game. its the ppl's attitude that is ruining ur game n not the chinese. n plus since u cant even kill the mob n u are blaming others of ksing, this shows how noob u are. plz do not think that u all are so pro in this game. i have seen quite alot of noobs recently running around chasing by monsters, begging for help. n guess what its ur race of ppl. so plz dont be so pathetic to raise up this issue. thank you.

Im also not from the specified area ( USA , mexico ) , but i use english and i try to write like its supposed to be. It doesnt really matter if they are chinese and dont speak english , everyone has the right to play the game:D

But, you do have a point, that there are people playing who speak another language. It might be too much work to make many versions, though. I guess tehy'll just have to keep a dictionary open or use Babel Fish on the site D:

Well as far as I'm informed (which may or may not be correctly so) there's basically 2 versions of Fiesta:
The Korean one and the English/International One. Granted our Fiesta is supposed to be USA/Mexico/Canada (but then you know what? The primary language in Mexico ain't English and there are plenty of people in Canada that speak French).

I believe you're making a hasty generalization here about international players (and specifically according to you the Chinese players) and their attitude problems. There's plenty of people with attitude problems from America (and with absolutely horrid spelling and grammar).
Besides anyone regardless forcing you out of their way for their convenience is just plain rude.

....and correct me if I'm wrong...aren't there players who are thinking of joining the Korean Game....who aren't 100% fluent in Korean? o.O

(i'm not saying that there's no problem but i think if i were you I'd ease up a bit/be a tad more tolerant to int'l players...or at least instead of merely posting (and whining) on the forums go straight to the source- the CSRs and GMs)

I"m not very sure about your question. I'm myself is also chinese and play the game in the US. The languange they are using is not conplatable with the game so they come up in weird symbols.

The PROBLEM is not people playing from China.
The PROBLEM is that a few people who play from there, think they can do WHATEVER they want, so they cause trouble, knowing nobody can speak with them!

It seems that most of the people that play from China don't speak English, and they have rude attitudes, where they play unfairly.

In all honestly you really can't be hard on them because they can't speak English. Not all players in the game speak English and they are not required. If I'm not mistaken, as others mentioned this isn't a "US" game or a "US" or "English only" game it's the English/North American version which includes Canada and Mexico. Mexico is Spanish and Canada has French..are you saying these people can't play if they don't speak English even though the version applies to them too? Also, it's very possible that those Chinese players and other non English speaking players are still able to read English, as many countries study and learn English, but how EFL is set up, often they are good at reading English but not always good at communicating in it, which means, they can still play the game and know what they are doing, but can't communicate well, and they don't have to, as they can party with similar speakers or attempt to communicate a little with English speakers, plus there is always the possiblity that they CAN speak English and don't want to, maybe because of people telling them not to be in the server (I've seen it a few times where people have told non-English speaking players to leave and join a different county server..and in some cases leter on I would see those non-English speaking players elsewhere and they were attempting to communicate in English and could get the general point across.

Now I agree that if their attitude and how they play is bad then those individual players deserve to be flammed or complained about, but not the whole community of Chinese players..

Not to mention not all "Chinese" players are Chinese, there are many other asian based county players that play also and are labled as Chinese such as Maylasian , Indonesian, Korean, Singaporean, Taiwanese, etc.

KariX, maybe some of Chinese guys really cause trouble in the game, but it doesn't mean every Chinese people do that. Honestly I am Chinese, and I have played "your" English version of fiesta before. I also made a lot of foreign friends, everybody are kind. In my memory, there is no one complain my communicate ability or annoying me for where I’m from. That’s OK, KariX. In the game, all of us are friends. Hope next time you will meet a kindly Chinese guy:)

Reason for all the botting is with countries that have little to no money per household, they can sell the money in games like this for easy rl $$$. Average Joe which goes to their site installs a keylogger/trojan on your pc and say goodbye to your character.

Well, the first one that's easy I think. I play some games in Japan, namely the newer ones that only have Korean or Japanese version, and at least I understand how to read Japanese. And that's really all you need, some very basic understanding of that language. Most of the time, I just go ^^ the whole way and that's all you need to finish an entire quest ...

They might not know English well, but just knowing a few key words like "pt" or "buff", many of them can play the game without any problems. Double click mob requires no language after all. So I think what you're really trying to talk about is not how they can play this game, but how to communicate to them player-to-player.

Well, obviously you can't, if their English is that poor, so leading to the second question. What can be done? Report their behavior to GMs as usual... a completely pointless reply isn't it? ^^"

Software piracy? Trainers? Bots? Unreadable chatting? This thread has less than 40 replies and more then 4 offtopic subs.

Software piracy: Unless you are getting only originals don t say chinese are destroying the software economy which will be dominated by chinese/indian companies in the close future anyway.

Trainers: Well I don t know how many times i was already trained, but names like cn something, cc something or something completely chinese were not the mayorities or worst of trainers i can remember. Furthermore training is caused by guild members most times so war on them.

Bots: There is something really wrong about bot policies. There are multiple threads with names, some with screens of bots in this forums, yet when I met GM_Dakkon earlier he did not know Ha_ttie or Annanna were bots ( both reported in threads here ) ...

Unreadable chatting: I have asked multiple players who are chinese how to enable multibyte character support but i guess they didn't know what that means. I asked many players from european countries/US the same and they didn t know what that is either. I wouldn t care for chinese chat i can t understand but the way i receive it i only get to see trash. Then I copy multibyte characters out of notepad ( notepad is able to display them... notepad! ), namely the ^ﾜ^ smily, and paste it into fiesta s chat input field, to see it become ??? while converting...

Foreign languages: >50% of what i chat in fiesta is in german, noone complains...

FYI, Chinese people arent the only one who's being a retard in game, I've met a few players who think they're all "hardcore" by talking in slang, "cussin" someone online, even E-threatening you that if you lived in their country, they'd beat the crap out of you.

And yes, I strongly believe they can speak english, how the hell would they be able to play an english version ( with a few wrong grammar/spellings here in there. ) of Fiesta if they cant understand it?

They're just being lazy most of the time, and I still chuckle whenever I see Shen from Bijou die and go "mememememememem...ty", lol.

xibou, it might be that copy+pasting itself is goofing up something; have you tried typing something in with an IME?

Also, i've noticed some Chinese programs like QQ don't display characters properly (granted I'm using Vista -ugh- but I think I remember it happening with XP as well) unless your computer region/system locale is changed from assumedly US English to Chinese (PRC) or maybe Japanese. If all else fails, try changing your computer region (this can make some other standard characters display incorrectly at times, but I find it more idiosynacracy than annoyance).

I've been able to type 汉字 into Fiesta without any display errors on my end, although I tend to just use pinyin since using fiesta and the MS IME tends to lag my lappy. ;(
