This MMORPG is fun and I'm thinking about giving a try... But what about the community? I heard it wasn't big, but it's very, very, very small or so-so? And is the game fun? Too cash shop dependent?

Please and thanks for answering me.

If you heard from someone that the community is tiny - they were right. The community is very small. The capacity for Channel 1, the most active channel, is always on Low. And if you log on at the wrong times, the game may seem to be almost empty. But the small community won't be that much of a problem if you log on at the right times, especially this time of day. If you stay on Channel 1, you won't have much of a problem finding people to party and PvP with.

As for fun: the PvP system is excellent but the grind may be rather painful. And if you have an old computer, you will probably lag a lot in this game, which will ruin PvP. Find people to chat with, or you will be bored out of your mind.

Cash shop: Not much to say. Cash Shop will make you level much faster. It will also give you a minimal edge in PvP, if you buy the stat modifying outfits. Nothing that will make you seem 10 levels better than other people in PvP, though.

If you do choose to play this game, Read This Guide. (http://outspark.com/forums/showthread.php?t=137261) It will tell you how to allocate your stats, which most new people tend to do incorrectly, making them level 3 times slower than they should.

Community: windslayer has a tiny community and the players are nice and helpful if u need help just go to balderan mining village
Cash Shop: If u want to lvl fast u will probly use the cash shop but the game is not cash shop dependant...only for higher lvls cause the grind is very long once u get there
Fun: Lots of fun to pvp easy to find great friends...you will hav a blast

Community : Indeed small, but there are enough that you won't be lost trying to PvP, or train from 1-44 ish. (after that it gets pretty darn lonely).

Fun? : The PvP in Windslayer is unlike any other. Heaps of fun, but the slightest lag can affect you in a bad way. It's easy to find friends and you can make your own shop without using real life cash. (Unlike some other games...).

Cash Shop Dependent? : Doubt it. You can get from 1-49 without cash shop. The only edges cash shop can give are PvP potions (they don't affect PvP much as they only last about 7 seconds), EXP boosters, which are good anyways, and weapons/outfits that give small boosts, such as EXP, Defense, MP consumption, and Skill cooldown time. The effect is pretty minor, so there's not much to worry about.

If you join, you are welcome to be my mentee/friend, and check out the guides that are around, like the Ultimate Windslayer Guide, and the Reinforcement/Gathering/Mining guide in the Getting Started/Gameplay sections of the forums.

This game is probably the closet thing you will find to supersmash brothers interms of fun and simplicity. It's easy to level up to 49, not much of a point to do anything after that unless your into prestige. Be prepared to be amazed at how some of the players can take something so simple and put up some truly epic fights.

But what about the community?
This is honestly one of the worst communities I've ever seen. It tends to happen though in pvp type mmos like this. Everyone has their e-pride and everyone has their idea of e-honor and everyone begins acting like a little 5 year old when pvping. And then it extends from there into the general pvm also when someone you beat three days ago sees you mobbing they'll jump in and attack your mob, ruin your exp for you and generally be very immature about it.

I've met like, two good people while playing this game. The rest all act like little kids that don't have anything else to do other than call me "noob stunner" or other worse stuff.
^watch, now that I've mentioned that I'm a trapper and I use Stun in pvp I might begin getting similar calls on the forum here. Meh, it happens. xD

I heard it wasn't big, but it's very, very, very small or so-so?
Depends on what you compare it to. Compared to other larger mmos this game is very little with very set grinding areas and not much variety in terms of monsters you can go to at your level to gain exp but that's not necessarily a bad thing sometimes. It is one of the smallest mmos I've ever played though to be truthful.

And is the game fun?
It can be fun, depending. The grind... well, it's the grind. What else can we say about it? The pvp aspect however is pretty in-depth and if you really want to become adept at it it'll take a while. If you can ignore the other players it can get pretty fun. However before it becomes fun though the other players may turn you off to the game completely.

A cool thing is that the party system seems very beneficial. Partying with like, 3 people you'll be gaining around 60-80%% of the monster's total exp still and killing three times as fast? That's really amazing. Unfortunately, as I mentioned before, the community is really crappy. More often than naught when I party with someone I'll find them 10 minutes later afking in the corner somewhere just leeching. It's rather hard to find someone who will kill and work with you.

That and the community seems to adopt this "one person goes mob and the rest sits until the mob comes by." That's very inefficient in terms of exp gain in my opinion. If everyone mobs and then everyone attacks the exp gain increases. In some maps one person mobbing might work out better but in others when it's clear that one person mobbing is just slowing everything down they still insist on doing it. :(

Too cash shop dependent?
I don't think so at all. The 100% exp makes things a lot easier but that's about it. The pet doesn't even really help in terms of item pickup. And the best you'll get from the cash weapons is like, 5% exp for a very prohibitive cost. So no, it's not cash shop dependent at all. Not even in the most remote sense when compared to other mmos where cash shop users will be leveling x4 as fast as you and killing x6 as fast as you. :)

Yep, I second the community...way to many people griefing if you beat them one time or one of their friends. That's the downside of a small community you will run into the same people over and over. It's really just sad to think how low someone's self-esteem is if they have to continuously try to ruin someone just having a good time. As for the honor freaks there is even less honor in chasing someone whose trying to get away from you then there is in running.

As for the cash shop, I think the game would have more players, if the cash shop items provided better benefits. 5% bonus on a kill is nice but it's really not that much extra an hour. If you earn 1 million an hr. all you gonna earn is an extra 50,000 thats hr. which you would earn in less then 10 minutes without it. And how much more damage does +2 STR do exactly? Even if you stack it to +4 STR? And the best items triple jump, and dash last 1 and 3 days each, and are way to expensive for that amt. of time.
